Restaurant is small and fairly "fancy" for fort st john. Food was absolutely gorgeous and delicious. Service was a bit slow, but we will come again. The garden burger ? I just about died when I tried it absolutely magical. Best in town hands down.

I did email this in but have received zero reply.If I can start by saying the staff were superb, very attentive and suitably chatty.In terms of food, my steak (10oz ribeye) was nicely cooked and well seasoned. However, the roast potatoes were incredibly disappointing. They really tasted as though they'd been reheated and not cooked and served fresh. Roast potatoes should have a crisp outside and a soft squishy interior. These were sadly 'cardboard-like' in texture on the outside as though they'd just been reheated. When paying $48 for a main course, I'd expect everything to be cooked freshly, not reheated.Our daughter had steak which was nicely cooked as well. However, I'd question why it was sliced before serving. Steak should be left to rest, slicing it seemed counterproductive as it then became dry. The mashed potatoes, similar to the roasts just seemed reheated rather than fresh.The demi-glace was delicious and very flavoursome as was the garlic aioli.Our son's mini-burgers were also lovely and my wife's dish was delicious although it wasn't a Thai Red Curry sauce in our opinion.I really don't like grumbling about meals out but when we're paying what we'd consider high prices for local food, there is a hope and expectation that it's freshly cooked.I also had horrific diarrhea the following morning after. We shan't be returning.

A Surprising Gem inside a Hotel.I was staying at the Northern Grand Hotel for work and when I asked around for places to enjoy dinner, the North Bar & Grill was recommended.Steak was on my mind and the menu had a couple of options plus there was a special available. I settled in a NY striploin and a glass of red wine. Both satisfied my taste.Service was super friendly. I was surprised at how busy they were. They place was full! Service really went beyond my expectations overall.Wine menu is pretty decent and there are enough for options to satisfy any pallet.Price was affordable and good value.Overall, would recommend and is fine back to try other menu options.

Food was delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly, i asked for med, but a bit more med well and they understood perfectly. Staff were very friendly and professional. Had a slight hiccup with the bill but they were quick to fix it and went above and beyond. Highly Reccomend.
My fiancée and I had our Valentine’s Day dinner at Northern Bar & Grill. We got a steak, beef dip, a couple drinks and caramel brûlée for dessert! The food was great, the staff were very kind & prompt with our order. There ended up being a mixup with the bill, but at the end of the night the manager, Samantha, she made it right! I would highly recommend stopping in having a great meal. Delicious food and wonderful staff. 10/10

The pork belly I ate at this restaurant was one of the best I've ever eaten in my life. I was staying at the hotel so I decided to ask for room service, but from the service to order the meal - to the boy who served me directly in the room all extremely attentive, polite. A hotel that is worth the 5 stars. And it makes a perfect combination with the restaurant that is also 5 stars. Food well served, portion for 1 person enough. Very well done. Delicious taste! And the service at the hotel reception also scores 1,000! I really intend to go back, because there is nothing more pleasurable than being well attended!

Used to be great but I feel the quality has gone downhill of late. Seafood salad for $28 was all greens with little seafood, calamari has deep fried vegetables and less calamari than I remember and we’ve cooked better steaks at home. Disappointing as we went there for our 10th wedding anniversary and were underwhelmed.
One of my favorite places in Fort St. John to take my wife out on a date.This restaurant has some of the best food in Fort St. John paired with the best cocktails you can order in town. I have always had great service here and the waiter/waitress is always there before I've had my last sip of any drink ensuring I'm well catered to.If you're looking for amazing service and great food I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
