We booked for a 2-night stay (2 adults). The first night was terrible, including issues with the heating that left us melting. We were prepared to walk, but the staff and management 100% rescued the situation through practical and appreciated changes, which made the second night of our visit very pleasant. The sunsets and views are spectacular. Did not try the restaurant/pub.

We only visited the pub. The decor was nice: a log cabin theme, well done. The view is fantastic. However, the service was indifferent and the food terrible.Food & drinks: Good wine selection but the food is terrible. The restaurant staff must have been drunk and stoned.

I visited the restaurant twice. (no hotel user) The first time was during lunchtime, and the second time was for dinner. One of the best things about this restaurant is its location. Despite being across the street, you can still enjoy a beautiful view of the sea. If you're lucky enough to get a seat by the window, it's a bonus! The interior is also natural and bright, with a Gabriola Island vibe, featuring wooden tones. The service is not a problem when it's not too crowded, but if it gets busy, the food may take longer, so it's better to come prepared for a wait or considering your ferry time. I took a walk along the nearby coast during the waiting time, and at another time I tried to cancel the order because of the ferry time. The prices for the dishes were reasonable, and they were delicious. The dessert was quite sweet, so it would be great if they had options for those who don't prefer overly sweet treats.Overall is good! I would recommend it for couples, especially during sunset hours.

Food was pretty decent. Fries are crispy and good. I had a wrap. It satisfied me. Cod burger was frozen mystery fish slab but still good. Likely not cod however. Staff were nice. Returned the next night

Restaurant review only we didn’t stay at the hotel. The service was slow and the food didn’t taste like much was made in house: hamburger was made from frozen patty and the sides for the steak dinner (shrimp, asparagus) were unseasoned. It’s too bad because it’s such an amazing view. That is likely what has kept this place in business.

We stopped here for a late lunch and it was fabulous!! Sat out on the patio and had the best view and great food while enjoying a Vancouver Island local craft brew. Awesome spot!

It seems the only way this place stays in business is due to the scarcity of accommodations on the island. This place is so poorly understaffed, I'd feel bad for the people who work there except that they take it out on guests. We went to the pub on our first night for drinks, and told the bartender we would order food after our last person arrived. He got us drinks but never came back to our table, and when we approached the bar with empty glasses, he took them and ran off without asking if we'd like another round. After almost 2 hours of waiting, we tried to order food only to learn that the kitchen had closed an hour before but they never did last call for food, and there was nowhere else open to eat so we were left hungry. The following night, we were returning from a wedding around 11pm and the fire alarm was going off on the first floor and water was flooding the main hallway. No one answered the emergency number after multiple calls, but luckily some of the staff had stuck around to drink in the pub after hours, and we alerted them. We were stuck without water all night and it was very inconvenient as we were checking out and traveling the next morning. They promised to refund us for finding the issue and reporting it, yet it has been several weeks and they still haven't. After confronting them, they have taken back their word though they said it to our faces, but they won't refund our night.Slimy people, bad service, avoid at all costs.

Nice old pub away from everything. Watching the waves break while enjoying a pint was great. The beach head is easiky accessible from across the street. A great atmosphere to spend some relaxing time.

I stayed in a dusty room and ate at a poorly serviced bar. Flat beer. Boring burger, wilted salad with no dressing. Had to find my own cutlery and the attitude wow. Like sorry I ever walked in I didn't mean to make you have be social and do your job, my sincerest appologies. Not don't go here.

Only ate in the restaurant. The Good: The food here is really good. The view is ridiculously beautiful, especially at sunset. The service is a bit on the slow side but good. The Bad: No disabled parking. Parking lot is gravel. They probably should have printed enough menus for their whole restaurant. In fact, why not put it on your website?! Also, not sure about the chicken bacon wrap vegetarian option.
