The Crane and Robin Restaurant

If you want a patio right on the water, this is the place to go. Amazing views, good/fast service, serves tacos, salads and sandwiches for food. Tried the pulled pork taco and it was good - really generous portion with the pork. Must try the chip and dip with the garlic hummus - the dip was extraordinary - not store bought. Even their hot sauce was made in-house and was really great!

Service is great and the location is beautiful. Servers are very kind, we were able to move to a more desirable table when one freed up. Food was fresh, but found the tacos quite bland. Thankfully they had some top tier homemade hot sauce to give them a kick.

Food is fresh and tasty. Salmon sandwich had a nice piece of salmon with a green pea hummus. Very good. The curried cod tocos were excellently seasoned and well balanced. However my wife had a bit of a problem later indicating maybe the cod had been slow cooked. Service was prompt but we got the definite feeling of being rushed to leave after we ate. Was a bit surprising given there wasn’t a crowd waiting. Prices are all around $25c so not inexpensive but given the small size of the restaurant they need to charge enough to make any money.

I love that there are no reservations here, so we could get in easily with the kids just by coming a bit earlier than the usual dinner rush. The charred salmon tacos (pea hummus, slaw, pickled onions) were so good, we had to come back a couple nights later to taste them again (plus we loved the marina atmosphere!). We’ll be trying to copy this recipe at home!

Always a great meal at Crane and Robin. Chips and any dip is always a must to start. Then the hard decision to go for a sandwich or tacos. Both are soooo yummy it’s hard to decide.
