We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at April Point. We had a room in the cabins facing Vancouver Island - it was clean, comfortable and a great location (with a lovely partially shaded field in front overlooking the water). We didn't eat at the restaurant and the breakfast was very basic. The staff were very helpful. It's a country resort and, in terms of facilities, is not on par with resorts in places like Whistler but we thought it was wonderful!
April Resort must have been an amazing resort at some point in the past years. Location is absolutely amazing, and opportunities that nature offers there as well. The potential of this place is so strong. The problem is the serious lack of staff and absence of management. The staff actually on site is courageous to be working here as each of them has got a great workload. No cleaning in the room for 4 nights, even though we were a family of 5 staying in the room. We came to April point for lunch and the view is great, the food was good and the server was good and we had prompt service the downside was as the the resort and restaurant have aged it does not appear the owners have made any attempt to renovate. Some things left untouched make for a rustic feel however some areas could definitely use some tlc. Expect to pay $140 for 2 people (water taxi and lunch with a drink)
