Ok, so after completing the third day of a kayaking trip, 1hr drive to the turn off and ~ 35 min on a gravel road (well maintained mind you), we arrived at Vancouver Islands most remote put - The Scarlet Ibis. The cabins are very basic, but they were a welcome upgrade from our tents while kayaking. Check in was super easy, staff very friendly, showers and bathroom private and well kept. Food in the Scarlet Ibis was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect. Sitting on the patio, we chatted with people from all over. Young, old. It was great.
For those driving a truck, if your stuff is in the box (canopy or tonneau), double check it's well sealed. We arrived to our stuff all covered in a fair bit of dust. Our tonneau cover was almost no help at keeping it dust free.
If you're going to be near, be sure to stop in and grab a beer, burger and swag.

Very welcoming by the staff and one of the owners, the showers were a well needed treat after camping for the last few days. The huts and wash facilities were clean and in good condition.
The food was ok/not great, but filled a hole.
As a whole it was a great experience and would go again/recommend to others.

Friendly staff, great patio. I had a bit of phone signal on their patio (Virgin). Something about having a cold pint of beer with a beautiful view in such a remote place that will make this unforgettable.

I ended up with a flat a couple kms out of holberg, someone was nice enough to let the owner know, and he was kind enough to come out and help get my lock out so I could get the spare down. We then followed him back to his restaurant. They have a beautiful view, food smelt and looked amazing, and the hospitality was 10/10. He helped change my tire and sent us on our way at no charge! What an amazing experience being a single mom with two kids. 10/10 recommend checking out the adorable community and this amazing restaurant ❤️

We stayed 2 nights in the cosy cabins with our 2 dogs. The cabins were perfect : comfy mattress, a fridge and camp chairs. Every one was so friendly and the staff at the pub were super 😎

Fantastic place to stop and take a break. Cold beer, great atmosphere, beautiful scenery.

They have potable water filling stations in the parking lot, nice bathrooms, and wifi as well so you can get your last couple things done before you leave civilization entirely.

Great place to stop when heading to Cape Scott. Everyone was so friendly, and we felt very welcomed. The food isn’t Michelin-level compared to city restaurants with many options, but it was quite good considering the remote location. The onion rings were particularly tasty, and the beer was excellent. The service was outstanding, and their merchandise makes for nice souvenirs. Considering it’s out on a logging road, it’s amazing to have a proper restaurant here—you really should stop by!

The cabins were cute and the beds were super comfortable. Fish and chips were excellent.Great place to stay for going to San Josef Bay or Cape Scott. Highly recommend.!! Will come again😊

What a fantastic pub. My friend and I stopped by after exploring San Josef bay last night. Sit wherever you like. They have patio and indoor seating. Very clean! Kind staff who jokes with you. Delicious chicken wings that were ready in what felt like a blink of an eye.
