Don’t miss the place when you passing by!
The chicken wings are perfect! Lightly coated, crunchy outside and juicy inside. Definitely one of the best I ever had!
The meat patty in the burger is hearty thick! And the salad dressing is surprisingly tasty!

Wonderful Real People and very friendly , supper was delicious and surroundings very relaxed , good for some good laughs and giggles .
Accomodation was more than adequate and there is a heater in the cabin to make you melt like Swiss cheese . Sanitary facilities are clean and exceeded expectations.
A place to come back to for sure , rain or shine ( I was there during the rain) . It's situated in the True Beauty of the Upper VI nature .

Great place! Good food. Very friendly ambiance and staff! Even other customers were joyful and we shared adventures stories! The Huts were a great spot to rest and have a good night sleep during bike our trip. Looking forward to our next visit!

I gave 5 stars because I had a wonderful time and not everything is in people's control BUT I do have to say. First, there was ZERO service or wifi. I have children at home and family that wanted to know I had made it, but was unable (pus said I could use their phone though). I had also relied on getting my map to San Joseph while at the pub but with no service I couldn't. Second, I had paid for a fire pit but was not provided. Again, I could have likely found someone but it was late when I realized and so I left it alone. Now.... Why 5 stars? Cause it was sooooo peaceful and such a wonderful place to stay before we continued onto the beach hike. Wonderful food and drinks, great view, nice cabins. Really had a great stay 💞

Spent a couple of days on San Josef beach and was happy to find this lovely, remote pub serving fish and chips. Excellent service, friendly people, serene environment. If you are from Vancouver Island and have not made the trip to this beach you are missing out.

The best location for a pub ANYWHERE!

If you're even remotely close, make the effort.

The drive down from Port Hardy is very picturesque, lakes and streams...

They say it's the journey... Well, it's also the destination!

Great food, great service.

We all enjoyed everything, soup, hamburgers, fish and chips...

We were debating stopping in because we thought to ourselves “how good can food be in a tiny pub in the middle of nowhere?” Joke was on us because it was one of the best meals we have had in a long, long time!!! The ceaser was to die for and the wings… I have never had any like them! We also shared a deluxe burger that was literally cooked to perfection! Then there was the service! The guys working today were fast , friendly and funny! They all looked like they really enjoyed working together and it was a great atmosphere…. Might just have to take the drive a few times a year (from the comox valley) just to stop in! Thanks guys for a awesome experience!

Ok, so after completing the third day of a kayaking trip, 1hr drive to the turn off and ~ 35 min on a gravel road (well maintained mind you), we arrived at Vancouver Islands most remote put - The Scarlet Ibis. The cabins are very basic, but they were a welcome upgrade from our tents while kayaking. Check in was super easy, staff very friendly, showers and bathroom private and well kept. Food in the Scarlet Ibis was fantastic, and the atmosphere was perfect. Sitting on the patio, we chatted with people from all over. Young, old. It was great.
For those driving a truck, if your stuff is in the box (canopy or tonneau), double check it's well sealed. We arrived to our stuff all covered in a fair bit of dust. Our tonneau cover was almost no help at keeping it dust free.
If you're going to be near, be sure to stop in and grab a beer, burger and swag.
