Went in , was asked if we had reservations, we did not, was told 45 to an hr wait. My husband looked there where empty tables but maybe they where reserved đ¤ˇââď¸. But to our left the entire side was empty. We where not willing to wait. As we where leaving a group of 4 came in. They also did not have reservations. We sat in car looking up places to eat .. about 10 min. Either the wanted to wait the group of 4 or they got a table. I looked up the site again, it DOES NOT say that they recommend reservations.

I remember coming through Invermere when I was 5 or 6 and being amazed by the Black Forest restaurant. I always wanted to stop and eat there but we never did. As an adult, I'd pass through the town but never had the opportunity to eat there. 40 years later, I finally made it. It was worth the wait. The food, the staff, the atmosphere; it was everything I thought it would be. I had the Bavarian Platter and it was perfect. The food is almost beyond description. We had the black forest cake and the cheesecake for dessert, both highly recommended. After 40 years of waiting, I was absolutely NOT disappointed. The 5-year old boy in me was squealing with delight. Thanks for making my boyhood dream a happy reality! 5 stars to everyone that was there on Sunday September 14th!

I personally found the food to be a bit mediocre. Schnitzel was good, but the steak was meh. In general lacked some seasoning. The experience itself was enjoyable, and the atmosphere is cute.

I had the seafood here and it was amazing â fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. To finish the meal, I tried the apple streusel cake, and it was just as impressive: warm, comforting, and the perfect sweet ending.
The restaurant itself has a cozy, welcoming feel, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Portions are generous, and everything from the mains to dessert tasted like it was made with care.
Black Forest Steak & Schnitzel Haus is definitely a place worth coming back to, whether for schnitzel, seafood, or just to enjoy another slice of that streusel cake.

Hostess was not accommodating. Friends had a table of two with two extra seats. Absolutely refused to pull up an extra chair for us to join them with our group of 3. Was excited to try, heard lots of great things. If youâre in the hospitality industry it pays to be hospitable. Guess not here

The first impression was lovely. The serversâ uniforms felt very authentic, the interior had a true old-world charm, and the exterior flower garden was beautiful. They did give us a bit of a hard time with our stroller at first, but once they understood our baby was asleep, they allowed it. I can understand their desire to maintain a classy, uncluttered ambiance, so I donât see that as a major issue.
Where things fell flat, unfortunately, was the food. For a place that calls itself a steakhouse, I expected much better. My New York steak, ordered medium well, was surprisingly thin, very chewy, and honestly disappointing. The potatoes on the side were dry and lacked flavor. For the price point, the quality just wasnât there. Iâve made better steak at home with a cheaper cut. It felt strange that a restaurant focused on steak would serve such a mediocre one.
