I remember coming through Invermere when I was 5 or 6 and being amazed by the Black Forest restaurant. I always wanted to stop and eat there but we never did. As an adult, I'd pass through the town but never had the opportunity to eat there. 40 years later, I finally made it. It was worth the wait. I personally found the food to be a bit mediocre. Schnitzel was good, but the steak was meh. In general lacked some seasoning. The experience itself was enjoyable, and the atmosphere is cute.
I had the seafood here and it was amazing — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. To finish the meal, I tried the apple streusel cake, and it was just as impressive: warm, comforting, and the perfect sweet ending.
The restaurant itself has a cozy, welcoming feel, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Portions are generous, and everything from the mains to dessert tasted like it was made with care.
