Eight Plates, One Flavor, and a Side of Drama
After a full day of golfing, we were hungry enough to eat just about anything—which worked out, because everything we ordered tasted exactly the same. Sauce-heavy, veggie-forward, and light on protein, each dish arrived with a different name but the same glaze and the same shrug. Hot sauce was the only thing that added any punch.
The real highlight wasn’t the food—it was the missing dish. When we pointed it out, our server (who was friendly and helpful) went to the kitchen, triggering what can only be described as a live-action debate. Two kitchen staff came out, speaking animatedly in their native language, counting plates like forensic analysts. It felt like a Monty Python sketch unfolding in real time.
Eventually, the dish arrived—triumphantly—and tasted just like the rest. We left full, mostly because we were starving, not because the food was memorable.
Bottom line: If you’re after bold flavors, look elsewhere. But if you enjoy a little dinner theatre with your meal, Oriental Palace might just deliver—whether you ordered it or not.

The waitress was great, and the food was typical decent Chinese food, but they had this wonton soup that was next level. I think they're made in house.. It really makes it worth going. I had ginger beef, S & P squid and a house chow mien.. All decent
.. But.. That wonton soup... 🤤

We came between services, around 3pm. The place was empty but that made no difference. The service was prompt, food was fast and very good. Suppose if I was being super picky, the rice was a little dry? Other than that, lots of food for the price. I would have no problem coming back here again.

Got the Shanghai beef noodles and the spicy ginger chicken. They were so good and yummy, ❤️. The ingredients were fresh and the food portions were generous.

Ginger beef was slightly overcooked. I also am not a fan of providing the lemon sauce for my lemon chicken on the side. But the amount of every dish I ordered was very hight. The chicken fried rice was excellent. The spring roll was fine. $21 is a very good price point for the amount of food provided. It is very hard to produce Chinese food that I dislike, and Oriental Palace has succeeded in quenching my appetite. I just wish that ginger beef was better prepared.

We are visiting from Calgary and were blown away at how good the food was at Oriental Palace. The food was ready on time for pick up and was hot and fresh. The fact that they also have gluten-free dishes, was a bonus and delicious as well. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Invermere.

It is a wonder restaurant and the food is very delicious. Moreover, it is affordable. We are 6 people and order 4 dishes in the part of gourmet dinner special. Finally, we are full and ask servers to offer box to us. Next year, if we come there again, there is no doubt that we have a dinner in this restaurant again.

The food here was excellent. We had the salt and pepper squid, ginger beef, fried rice and chow mein. All the dishes were hot, came out in under 10 minutes and were really delicious. Our kids thought it was really tasty! Our servers were attentive and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. Great place for some yummy asian food!
