We came last year during a road trip & found the food and service to be decent. Came back this time since it is one of the few halal options in Kamloops & were quite disappointed.
Apparently the owner/operator is pursuing some Guiness record, so there were a bunch of her family/friends there talking amongt each other. Wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't such a glaring lack of service.
We had to wait several minutes and approach the group to be seated and given a menu. Menu had only a small handful of items available at the time, which were way too overpriced for the quality and quantity of food we were given. Like the chicken leg was broken and not even a full peice.
We kept having to ask the server for basic things like water (even though resteraunts usually bring it themselves), napkins & utensils.
Just not a good experience overall. I understand the Guiness thing was for a good cause, but if you're going to overlook paying customers & provide bad service, you'll drive them away. We were left so confused by the lack of service and hospitality. Washrooms were dirty as well. Won't come here again.
Quite by chance I was drawn to this restaurant during my travels to Alberta. Chef Zainab, a beautiful woman, is going to beat the Guinness Book of World Records by cooking for a long time, several days, and she's giving all the food away-FREE,,!
Isn't that incredible?
Zainab came to Kamloops nine years ago as a student and decided to stay. She certainly is a gem, and your City is fortunate to have her.
Please drop by to make a donation, to cheer her on and to volunteer your help.
Lovely staff and I wolfed the jollof rice, chicken thigh in yummy red sauce and the best coleslaw ever!

Having said that, pls make sure to specifically tell your spice level in terms of mild, medium, high

Very delicious food at a very good price! If you’re looking for something different this is the place! A very good aroma of flavours can’t be found in too many places. Highly recommend everyone to try

First time being here or having African style food. Went here for lunch on a Saturday. I was recommended to try Jollof Rice so I ordered the Suya Jollof Rice with a side of plantains. It was so delicious!
I'm a fan of spicy food and this dish has a good kick that kept me going back for more. Plantains are always a favourite of mine and these ones were delicious.
Service was great and they were really helpful with suggestions.
Would definitely eat here again. 10/10 😊

Super nice Egusi soup and some sort of pounded yam or fufu (not sure). Very nice. Next time I definitely want plantains along with it.

Jallof rice, suya chicken and plantain was the perfect throwback to my childhood. Be warned the food is spicy, but the flavor was delicious. Loved the decor and the food

I had a fantastic experience at this African cuisine restaurant! I tried the beef ribs, fish, jollof rice, and a few of their drinks—and everything was full of flavor and cooked to perfection.
The beef ribs were the absolute standout—tender, juicy, and packed with rich, smoky flavor that really stole the show. The fish was fresh and well-seasoned, and the jollof rice had that authentic spicy kick with just the right texture. The drinks were refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal.
The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

We were on our way from Saskatoon to Vancouver and stopped by Kamloops. Looked for Halal food around and although there were a few, this place stood out as it’s a cuisine I personally wanted to try out. And this place was so worth it. The server was so friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic and recommended us what to try. Went with the Beef Suya Jollof Rice and it was so good, all my friends had other different things and everyone enjoyed everything on the menu. Funny enough, as I write this, we’re going to stop there again for another meal on our way back to Saskatoon! 100% recommend!
