Nice stop around Cowichan lake. Overall decent food and good service. Would try burgers next time.
- Penne carbonara - flavourful thick sauce with baked cheese and sauce on top.
- Crab dip - had greek tones that were delicious. The Greek bread was crispy and fresh. Our favourite here.
- Battered Fish - this was with snapper which was flaky but moist. The breading was a little thick.
- Poutine - don't recommend. Didn't have real cheese curds. Gravy was very salty and seemed from powder.
- The Cow Shaft - cool coffee flavoured cold drink with cold foam and 3 vodka shots!

The Cow! What a beautiful little spot. I love the comfortable setting, it is just right. Caesars are exactly how they should be, if you like them as much as i do you should try one. Cowichan Koolaid is also delicious. I had the Fajita salad with prawns and it didnt disappoint. Great place. Thank you!

Waited 40+ minutes for the food to arrive. When it did mine was gross; got the Penne Pacifico. Was swimming in a bland cream sauce with a weird flavour. Maybe 6 shrimps. Allegedly there was crab? I think crab dip was put on top? I even asked about the crab and was told there was crab in it. Stretch for sure.
Don't waste your money; we should have known when the restaurant was nearly empty on an otherwise busy night.

I looked up the menu on line and settled on the Prime rib poutine. It had fries, cheddar cheese, gravy with prime rib, mushrooms and onions. What I got was good fries with gravy, onions and here and there a piece of leftovers from yesterday's prime rib topped with a mustard sauce, yuk!! No cheese, no mushrooms. My husband's snapper burger was good and they discontinued my bill. You get a plastic cup for water, who still does that for eat in? The burger was in a plastic basket, what is this, Dairy Queen? The servers tried hard, but I will not be back. The atmosphere it used to have is also a thing of the past.

Great food, EXCEPTIONAL service! Any place that prioritizes the kids orders gets a big thumbs up!
Fish and chips where terrible unfortunately 90% batter had a bad taste the prime rib routine not only looked like aweful but was the equivalent to dog food topping

If you are passing through or have finished the Juan de Fuca trail this is a wonderful stop. We had the ribs and brownie for dessert. Fantastic after our 3 days of hiking. Great food with a home cooked feel. Great staff and service.
