I enjoy myself every time I eat here. The food is well prepared and fresh. The service is excellent. The front door is hard to open. Pull with effort. It's worth it!

Misleading name and signage. Despite being called “The Cow” and displaying a detailed beef cuts diagram on the sign, the restaurant offers only one standard beef burger and no other beef dishes. The fish and chips were disappointing — the fish was ordinary in quality, overly battered, and excessively greasy. It’s far inferior compared to similar dishes in Nanaimo and Port Renfrew.

Food took over 45 minutes to come during a slow time, I was passing through cowichan and needed to get home not living close at all . They didn’t let me leave and pay for the soda I had and instead made me wait until the food was done for another 10-15 minutes. They even got my order completely wrong. Manager wasn’t even familiar with the burgers on the menu and told me that if I wasn’t going to eat the wrong dish they served me she was going to eat it. It’s unprofessional to tell a customer you're going to eat something that already had a bite taken out of it and then proceed to guilt trip by saying it’s going to have to come out of your own pocket.

This is one of our spots we love to go to for breakfast sometimes on the weekends there be any bowls are great so filling. One of my favourite is also the chicken Polo Loco, it’s so good but also large, so my husband and I usually share it. I definitely would check this one out if you’re in Lake Cowichan

Service was amazing.. our waitress was so lovely, we came on a long weekend and it was so quiet, so peaceful. Food was wonderful! The restaurant atmosphere was so rustic and comfy, the Corona salt and paper was a cute country touch. The Crab meat mushroom caps are my new personal favourite! Can’t wait to come back!

I just ordered a “Thai” salad that was basically leaves of spinach with stale tasting cooked noodles on it .. super disappointing that this is what I got for 30$

I have been supporting this place as a customer since it opened, and I have just moved back to town and was excited to take my wife and friend here for breakfast. While breakfast tasted fine, when we asked for hot sauce we were told it would cost $1 for our choice of Franks or Sriracha. Absolutely ridiculous to nickel and dime your customers like this. I could understand a charge for housemade hot sauce, but this is unacceptable. You just lost a customer.

Best burger in town, juicy with that grilled flavour and fresh toppings. Every single time.

Nice stop around Cowichan lake. Overall decent food and good service. Would try burgers next time.
- Penne carbonara - flavourful thick sauce with baked cheese and sauce on top.
- Crab dip - had greek tones that were delicious. The Greek bread was crispy and fresh. Our favourite here.
- Battered Fish - this was with snapper which was flaky but moist. The breading was a little thick.
- Poutine - don't recommend. Didn't have real cheese curds. Gravy was very salty and seemed from powder.
- The Cow Shaft - cool coffee flavoured cold drink with cold foam and 3 vodka shots!
