Price increase on take-out !! I guess the cost of paper bags and boxes has gone up ? Our usual take-out has been increased by $4.00 so we won't be ordering as often. Although the fish and chips here are very good here one can only spend so much on this type of food. We usually ordered twice a month but now will be just once in a while. Is it just my imagination or has has the quantity of fries in the box also decreased ? Anyways, too bad and I hope they don't price themselves out of the market.

We did takeout. Got two of the one piece cod and chips meals, a single piece of halibut and a 4oz tartar sauce. All the food was yummy! Halibut was a little overcooked but still tasted wonderful. We were a little disappointed that the fish was not local, the cod being Atlantic and the halibut being Alaskan. The service was quick. We were told 15 mins, so we went outside to wait. At ten minutes we went back in and our order was ready! Overall very good and we will be back.

Undoubtedly the best spot on the island for an authentic fish and chips experience. Their halibut is a standout—crispy, golden batter encasing tender, flaky fish that melts in your mouth. The chips are the epitome of British-style perfection, boasting a satisfying crunch with a fluffy interior. Every bite speaks to the quality of ingredients and the skill of the cooks. For anyone craving top-notch fish and chips, Salty’s is the place to be.

Food was good and the server was friendly but the restaurant was extremely dirty. Specifically, the front door, window ledges, air ducts and floors.

So this was my first time visiting Salty's since I got to the island a year ago today! Now I’ve been in the restaurant industry for years, back of house as executive chef and front of house as a manager and bartender.
Now the food was great! Large portions, great batter and fry on the cod, perfect coleslaw and the tartar sauce is amazing. Where this restaurant crashed and burned for us was the service! The 2 girls working tonight were horrible. They took the order which we had to verify as the order she told k was incorrect and had to add onion rings as I asked for a substitute and she forgot it on the order I had to reminder before she walked away.
After receiving our order the blonde girl touched the table once even though both girls on the floor looked at me and my empty glass and just stood there chatting. Now the place wasn’t busy at all so it finally took my wife asking for a refill to finally get a refill and when she brought it to the table I said thanks and she just dropped it and had this look like we inconvenienced her.
Once we were at the bill paying point we paid and keep in mind we both have been in the industry for years and we tip 25% most of the time. The girl who brought me my refill looked at the 15% tip and basically gave me the F you look and just walked away.
These girls were young and maybe they lacked experience or maybe they really received poor training but the difference between the bill She got and the bill she would have got was a difference of 30 bucks.
Not sure I’ll go back but if I do I hope the owners/ managers use this experience as a learning experience and help these girls reach a level of service that this restaurant deserves and will be known for In the future.
