Inconsistent experience.

As a vegetarian, I always order the No Swimmin’ poke bowl, and the first couple of times, it was great. But after that, ingredients became hit-or-miss. sometimes no ginger at all, sometimes barely any shoyu sauce.

I stopped ordering due to the inconsistency but decided to give them another chance after over 6 months. This time, my order arrived completely different. Poke bowls traditionally have cold toppings with a warm base like rice or quinoa, but this one was refrigerator cold, with quinoa instead of rice (this pre-made recipe always came with rice). It felt like it had been pre-made and stored in the fridge for hours.

All my orders are through Uber Eats, where there’s no option to choose between rice or quinoa. The store should call customers before automatically making changes to their order.

3 stars because the food has the potential to be good, but the inconsistency and lack of customer service, not communicating when ingredients are missing and making substitutions without notice, bring the experience down.

Food was good they were missing a few of the sauces and missing shyu tuna. If they had better stock could be rated higher.

The portion was generous— regular size with three proteins was enough for two people to share. The tuna was very fresh, while the salmon tasted slightly less fresh and a bit fishy in comparison. The variety of sauces was excellent, and the option to choose all the toppings was a great touch.

Incredible service from the staff. The food was amazing. I ate in the passenger seat on the drive home, and it was the only thing we talked about, the crunchy fresh flavours, the combination of spices and textures. Absolutely incredible.

Very good poke bowl for the price and super large serving. Almost couldn’t finish it. Ingredient fresh, flavourful and staff was helpful and friendly.

Facility was clean and inviting.

My personal preference would be to have the rice a little less sticky. Of course poke bowl needs sticky rice, but this was almost mushy and too starchy. I’m not going to take points off for that because I did enjoy it and the flavour was solid.

Unfortunately, the last two times I went the rice was over cooked/too much water is what I was told. I actually walked out and didn’t continue to make my bowl because the rice was literally a blob. It’s too bad because I have a VIP card and love this place. They have to fix the rice issue asap.

I eat Steve’s Pokes at least twice a week. I have not found a better Poke bowl out there. This includes my regular business trips to Honolulu. The blend of fish, vegetables, tobiko and Ginger are a delicious and filling meal all while being good for your health.
