Home style food, tasty and good portions. We’ll be trying their fish and chips night. Apparently comes with coleslaw and fries! Looking forward to it! Atmosphere is retro vibe! Just outside of Merritt

We are staying with friends on the outskirts of Merritt BC ..they brought us to the Hitch’n Post for dinner .. this is a local gathering place for neighbours and residents of the area who get together for some ‘social time’..a friendly atmosphere with welcoming owners Barb and Tony ..they served a hamAnd scalloped potatoes for our dinner .. with lots of choices for dessert ..from pudding to pies and cheesecake..If you are ever in the area be sure to stop by ??

Just a small diner, great experiences here.Locals come and go and love to make friendly conversation and the most welcoming feeling restaurant in a 100 mile circle.Parking for trucks and trailers.This is a place that you come to hungry and leave full. Suggestion for breakfast: the ultimate omelet, size and food quality are second to none.

Vegetarian options: There are Veg options on the menu

Parking: Truck and trailer accessible and encouraged. Lots of car stalls in front of restaurant.

Dietary restrictions: Bottom of the menu says "don't see what you want? Just ask!"Need something modified? They will be more than happy to provide and accommodate.

I had their Special Roast Beef Dinner with mashed potatoes, carrots and gravy. It was the best I've had in a long time, Excellent service and price. I couldn't even think of having dessert. Thanks

Hidden gem! Much of their food is sourced locally, and it has a real authentic feel. The opposite of the big chains.

In town to have my dog groomed so I had an hour to kill. Already had breakfast so I was looking for coffee and a cinnamon bun. I settled for coffee with yesterday’s apple pie and ice cream. Not quite the same. Lol
