By far the best sushi in Maple Ridge, and I don’t say it lightly. I’ve been growing disappointed with some other sushi restaurants in town as of late. I noticed that sushi and rolls became bigger due to lots of rice, but much smaller on signature ingredients. I know the economy is tough but come on! But Hako sushi is not one of those places! My son and I were blown away by the freshness of ingredients and even garnishes like salad leaves that accompanied our rolls. So glad to have discovered this small and unpretentious place with fantastic food and very attentive service!
Wow, our new favorite sushi place. I had the Spicy Combo and an Oshi Sampler. Both were so good! They specialize in Oshi, which I had never tried before. I'm so glad I did because it's going to be a new thing for me. The Tenderloin was my favorite. I highly recommend you try out Hako for your next sushi outing.

Sushi is off the chart! Value is fantastic without compromising quality. Small restaurant with limited seating so get there early. Takeaway packing is really good, classes up the dinner table.

I'm so afraid to give this place the review it rightly deserves. I don't want it to become so busy that it is a hassle to go. However this place deserves all the praise I can give it!Starting with the food, great sushi, each specialty roll is big enough to feed 1 person which is so rare in lower mainland sushi joints. The rolls are fresh and well made I highly reccomend the avocado cucumber roll, B.C. roll, red dragon roll, and the salmon Oshi pressed "Osaka" style sushi. Each of these is amazing and well made.The miso soup deserves its own mini review here. I've been to low and high end sushi joints in many places. The Miso soup here is the best, bar none. Perfectly salty and balanced with real miso flavour not some dry soup package they're trying to pass off as authentic. This miso soup is fantastic and well worth the trip for this one item alone.Side items like tempura are also large and high quality so just be aware when ordering that you will be very full by the end.The staff is exceptionally friendly and make their customers feel special. And the atmosphere is cozy with only a few tables for seating.Overall this place is my go-to when I'm in the area and well worth a detour when I'm not. Keep up the good work Hako!Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options for rolls including the usual suspects (cucumber, avocado, carrot) and some not so usual suspects including yam, cream cheese, mango, asparagus and spicy tofu. Add to that lots of veggie appetizers, salads, and soups. There's lots of options for your vegetarian needs.

I've seen a lot of good feedback about this place and I finally had a chance to try it today. The place was a bit tight and have limited seats to dine in. Staff were friendly but very busy for pickups. Foods we've ordered were all very delicious, tasty and fresh. The Tenderloin Oshi is heaven! And the breading of Prawn Tempura melts in your mouth so you really get the taste of prawns. Cant wait to go back here. This place is highly recommended to try.
