My son and I stopped here for breakfast on the way to Golden Ears. I’ve never heard of this place but was pleasantly surprised that for one it was not busy, the hostess and servers were very friendly, the eggs Benny with vegan sausage and amazing! We will definitely be back (we live in Port Moody but worth the drive!)
Worth the drive from North Van!!! From the friendly staff and amazing location to the DELICIOUS menu!!! The best Sunday and Café experience I’ve had in a very long time! Thank you Humble Roots team!
The food (breakfast items) was ok. It's decent, but not overwhelmingly tasty...just average. Food was served hot and good-sized portions. We had Brisket Benny and Bisket & Gnocchi Sunny Side Up. The inside of the restaurant is small/cozy. There are outdoor seating options, but weather dependent. The specialty coffees are excellent including the Hedgehog Latte. Service was also very good. Restaurant located away from downtown which makes it a quiet rural setting.
Great breakfast great prices, out in the country not from from town.
Food was great but cold, felt like it sat in the kitchen for a bit....
Food is phenomenal! The staff are great. The cafe is small but they use the space really well. Highly recommend the Breakfast Poutine or Perogies 10/10.
We had a wedding reception for our son and daughter-in-law there recently and they went above and beyond for a wonderful evening. Thank you to Tyler and your staff for a wonderful time and amazing food!
Get the Hedgehog Latte!

I’ve been in the industry and been to countless restaurants in my time in multiple cities. For real, the waffles and the brisket Benny were both the best things I’ve ever had for breakfast. The service was excellent, quick and efficient, we never had to ask for anything. ALSO, the cutest spot ever, the natural wood, chalkboards and ambience was so relaxing with our gingerbread and French toast lattes. If you’re seated near the window, there are horses grazing on the grass across the street, which certainly adds to the charm! I prefer to visit new places but this place just made a regular out of me! Can’t wait to come back!

The food is unbelievable in here and the servers are lovely. It's simple seating (hence the humble name) but clean and bright.

I went to Humble Root when another restaurant was inexcusably close. I am glad I did though because Humble Root Cafe & Deli is an exceptionally great place for breakfast and lunch. Despite the small venue space, the place was very popular. Even though it was busy, it did not take long for me to get a table.
This restaurant has two separate food menus: one for general customer, and a vegan menu for healthier alternatives. I ordered the Brisket & Gnocchi Hash with coffee. The coffee was pretty good and saw myself having second cup. The hash was exceptionally good. The brisket meat was good, even with some fat on it while the au jus sauce was great. The gnocchi were very tasty since it was cooked to golden crispness. I did not care for the cherry tomatoes that came with this meal, yet the sautéed mushrooms were delectable. I even ordered their French Toast Latte and Hungarian treat on my way out to try.
Humble Root does not do reservations, and it was ‘first come, first serve’ for all customers. Like their menu, the interior design of the restaurant looked very wholesome with some of the wooden decor and walls and the waiters dressed in casual attire. Also, they like to celebrate the holidays with Halloween/Christmas decorations, and their seasonal menu choices. The were really courteous and checked on me as often as they can, even during their busiest times.
Overall, the Humble Root lives up to their name with the staff's first-rate work ethics and organic entrees. I cannot wait to come back there to try their vegan menu choices.
Vegetarian options: There is a separate Vegan menu for others to order from
Parking: The parking there is minimal and was difficult for me to find a spot.
