Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill

We visited Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill in Maple Ridge this weekend and this is a Gastro Pub that is true to its name.

Great seafood, locally sourced ingredients and everything is made fresh in house!

We started off with the seafood chowder and steamed mussels. The chowder was phenomenal and the mussels while slightly out of my comfort zone were very tasty.

Entrees were the Iron Butcher burger with local cheese, bacon jam, black garlic aioli and arugula along with a beet goat cheese salad and rockfish tacos. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time!

We book for 5:30 pm but the walk-ins are welcome, (we have to ask who our waitress was because it took a while (10 mins) for our order be taken and ironically were told that we have to leave by 7:30 because next reservation) by this time of the year the patio is open and obviously was packed so we sat inside with the AC. Bella was our server and she was great. We ordered Mac & cheese for my son, I started with and England clam chawder bowl which comes with 2 pieces of focaccia (delicious) and after a butchers burger with fries and the patty is juicy salty and crispy (lots of places lack of 2 of 3 of this characteristics). I was tempted to order the house wine or a coke but I stand with ice water as my intentions was to order coffee and dessert. My wife ordered the Dragon bowl which she loved it. At the end I was pretty full and skipped the dessert and coffee but my wife ordered a brewed coffee and the creme brûlée. I loved the burger so I will come back for it pretty soon.

Passed by with some friends because it was suoposed to be Happy Hour at 2pm . They mentioned it had changed to 3pm. Website needs t be changed. Food was pretty good. Fish was fresh but, the Fish was oily. Onoy Happy Hour Beer was Lager, not listed in the website. Time to upgrade and offer more than 1 beer on HH

Made a reservation in the patio over two months ago and they forgot about it when we arrived with our party of 13. They made it seem like it was on us and were super rude. They wanted to seat us by the band, and after a lot of asking they finally sat us outside but split between two tables. The food and drinks are good but definitely not worth the price - and my $10 beer didn’t even come filled to the top.

Ordered the halibut burger and fries. Burger was good. Fries were great! Location on the river is very nice and the staff were all friendly and wonderful. Will definitely come back!

Have been hosting our staff Christmas social there for 3 years now. My staff love it, food is delicious and fresh with great customer service. Highly recommend.

Used to be a favorite, but has been getting steadily worse over the last few years. Always too few wait staff, poor, slow service, lukewarm food. Reduced menu. This is strike 3, we will not return.

We had a 5pm reservation and walked into an empty restaurant yet somehow waited 1 hour for any food, which was odd considering our first appy ordered was raw oysters. We ordered 3 different seafood items and all were fishy and had no flavor. We were very disappointed.
