I came into Steve’s Poke to try it out for the first time, as I have never tried poke before and wanted something new after work. I walked in, I was greeted by a super friendly brown haired girl, who ran me through the whole spiel on their food. I thought she was working alone until a boy came out from I am guessing the back of the store, and was on his phone. I continued to choose my own bowl, as that’s an option there, and the brown haired girl offered me a few different samples which I LOVED. one thing really didn’t sit right with me during my visit. The girl had asked the boy on his phone to help do something in the back and he just rolled his eyes, after being on his phone in the corner. He then, proceeded to mutter the B-word so very clearly under his breath and just stormed off. I genuinely felt bad for the girl and I wanted to speak up as she was just doing her job and asking him to help.Regardless, I absolutely LOVED my food, everything tasted delicious, the music and customer service from the girl made my time great! I will be back soon?

Months ago, I first entered Steve's poke bar as a skeptic, as I was unfamiliar with poke and not sure what to expect. I was greeted by Simon, a worker who thoroughly informed me of options available, what newcomers generally try, what's sweet, spicy and what his favorites were.I chose a shoyu salmon bowl, Simon quickly assembled it for me with a profound attention to detail, carefully and artfully placing toppings throughout the perimeter of the bowl, gradually filling in the center. I was blown away by the beauty of it.Simon handed me his creation with the brightest smile and impeccable eye contact. He was proud of his work. The bowl tasted incredible, like a sushi roll from heaven that made an impression on me so much so that I still think about it often.Today, I attend Steve's poke bar in maple ridge weekly after visits to the gym to nourish my body and of course to be greeted by the great and powerful bowl artist, Simon.
