The owner works alone here so if there are many people you'll probably have to wait to be served. But he is nice and the food is good with a generous serving size. Has a bit of a retro look to it too.

This is absolutely the best Chinese food/food in general that I’ve ever had! The gentleman who owns this restaurant is a master chef who obviously takes pride in his craft. Depending on how many people are in the restaurant when you arrive, you may have to wait. It’s sooooo worth it! The owner really does a phenomenal job of juggling taking orders, cooking, and serving. We were in Masset 4 nights and after the first night, it was so good that we came back to try new menu items for another 2 nights. Each item was done to perfection! It’s tough to pick a favourite. When in Haida Gwaii, you need to go here!!!

We just had a wonderful experience at this establishment! The owner/chef/server let us know when we arrived that it would be a few minutes until he was able to serve us which we were fine with as we were really excited to try his cuisine based on the fantastic reviews. The wait proved worth it on all levels. The food was even better than expected! It is obvious that this chef takes great pride in his food. The quality of food paired with the seasoning and flavours he takes mastery of is top notch. The chicken corn soup was soooo yummy! I haven’t had it in years and it was like a warm hug. Our table also had the wonton soup, chicken wings, chicken and broccoli, dry garlic pork and chicken chow main all were seasoned to perfection, served hot and sooo fresh. We will be back!

Amazing food , highly recommended. I have eaten in many Chinese food restaurants, including some of the best ones in Vancouver and this is as good or better than them .

Owner was very condescending, told us it would be 30 minutes until he can take our order and time to get food would depend on what we ordered. We witnessed him take a menu from another customer and say tell him “no food for you”

We decided we didn’t want to wait for an unknown time and decided to leave, the owner came out while we were at the door and said he was ready to take our order and we said we were in a time crunch and asked if he was open tomorrow we were told no, drove by the next night and he was open.

We stopped by here on a Thursday night. We asked the owner for vegetarian recommendations and he recommended the vegetable egg foo young combo. We go one with fried rice and one with chow mein. We loved both dishes. The food was very much like something homemade with care and love. The owner is really friendly.

The best meal in Masset... is ironically Asian cuisine. This one man operation was quite the show to witness. He greets, he cooks and he serves. The meal was hot, fresh and tasty. Possibly the most impressive feat was his memory; he took a full table of 6 orders, with modifications, without a note pad. Straight up Rainman memory and everything came out perfect.

Outstanding wor wonton soup (flavourful broth, seafood, fresh veggies) and equally excellent salt and pepper squid. Delightful surprise to find such excellent Asian food at the remote end of the road! Love the vintage turquoise diner decor.

The food was absolutely amazing, the gentleman who served and cooked our food was very polite and respectful; service was great. It was my first time visiting and I didn't regret it at all! I will definitely be returning for the delicious food 🫶🏻
