It's hard to rate this accommodation because there was really nothing opened, e.g. the restaurant was closed due to lack of staff. The reception staff were lovely and very friendly. The room was OK but nothing special. However, we did love the town of Nakusp. Nice restaurants and cafes and more than anything the flower baskets and pots full of beautiful flowers were extraordinary
Great skiing experience
We stayed there for 9 days while heli-skiing with CMH Kootenay. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Great food and great people.
What a great little motel in a gem of a town. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay here. The hotel was clean, the front desk was friendly and attentive, the restaurant was awesome and the town is beautiful with the lake views and the wonderful flowers.
We were Motorcycling and had booked the Lodge . We arrived early and the staff were very accommodating. Our room was not available , however they stored our Motorcycle Gear and luggage in a locked room while we walked through Town enjoying the sights and enjoying a “Cool one” on a hot day . The staff were all terrific helping us out with all our questions and needs . The location is excellent with a short walk to the beach . The rooms were clean and everything worked well , including the Air Conditioner on a hot and. Balmy 37+ C day . Thank you again Folks
We stayed here for one night only on our trip to beautiful Nakusp. It was extremely hot so we really did appreciate the air conditioning in our spacious queen room in the annex building. We found the staff to be very friendly. As mentioned in other reviews if you have mobility issues it would be wise to request a ground floor when booking. The lodge seemed to be fully booked as it was beginning of the August long weekend. Our queen room came with a mini fridge which was very handy. There is a small coffee maker in the room. It is very basic but very clean and the beds were super comfy with nice linen. Our only disappointment was that the restaurant was closed on Wednesday and Thursday. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Nakusp.
The Lodge has the most visible and centrally located accommodation in Nakusp. It is huge, fastidiously clean, easy free parking. The Tavern is in the complex and a big Grocery Store across the road. Advise of mobility issues at booking as probably half of the 94+ ? rooms are upstairs. Double stairs. Spartan rooms and fit-outs but clean. Our first room was small and basic. Immediately given larger room with air-conditioning, mini frig and a small desk and 1 wooden chair and a one cup Coffee maker . No suitcase rack/s, wardrobes, microwaves. Small functional bathroom. Of necessity we ate Dinners in The Tavern. The meals excellent and surprisingly cheap. Staff fantastic. Reservations for Dinner a necessity as Guests are a Captive Audience. We bought a Burger Dinner one night up the road. By the time we got back to room, it was cold, no crockery etc., So … just eat at The Tavern! Nakusp is a very beautiful town and several older surrounding towns are historically important and well worth visiting.
No food available in the morning, nor in the evening after nine, and a big rude sign saying no breakfast was scrawled on paper in the lobby. No coffee was offered anywhere in the hotel. This poses problems as the place doesn’t have kitchens to make your own food and they did not provide coffee supplies in the room. I checked out at 11:15 and asked if I could occupy an empty table to work for a few minutes until lunch service started at 11:30. I was told to go away or perch on a bench beside the empty tables for 15 minutes. I was not welcome to wait on the premises even though I was clear that I had no expectations of service until they opened. Meanwhile the server and the lobby employee chatted away casually about their personal plans for the day and the server sat on her phone at the bar texting. I was not offered a receipt for my stay and the morning staff was overall abrupt. I wrongly assumed as a hotel guest I would be treated to a modicum of hospitality. Note - The evening clerk was lovely and friendly but as I arrived late I asked about food options. I was sent to the convenience store where I bought cheese and crackers for dinner. She did her best and was very nice despite the situation. The hotel room was fine, clean, spacious and pretty standard but the customer service in the lobby and restaurant was enough to put me off ever recommending this place. You would think that struggling businesses would be at minimum, polite to potential customers during these times. I’ve gone down the road to spend my money at the competitors instead.
The Lodge is the only place we will stay in Nakusp. The rooms are very clean, beds are very comfortable, and bath size towels in the bathroom! It is handy to everything in town, and to have a restaurant and lounge in the same building is a bonus!
The reception was very friendly and helpful. The room large ( 2 queen size beds) and clean. We stayed in the Annex which is quiet and very pleasant. Beds are comfortable and had a good night sleep. Very good hotel if you visit for what ever reason Nakusp or the area.

Very comfy room but we did not have a fridge in our room and the window did not open. However we would stay there again as it was clean and comfy. We did not try the restaurant this time but will give it shot next time as it was very busy.
We were doing a little BC trip and a friend tipped me off to stop in Nakusp. Wow! So grateful, we decided to stay 2 nights. This hotel needs to update their website pictures because they've done extensive renos and the current pics don't do it justice ;) The front desk lady was a gem! It was Sept long week and they were overly packed due to pandemic and so many places shut down, but she did her best to accommodate as many as she could, and she did it all with a smile even with some cranky people. The room was HUGE!!! 2 queen beds, massive bathroom, very clean, very unexpected. We were on the end in the 2nd building top floor, room 89, so the mechanic shop next door was loud in the morning, but it didn't bother us. Our only complaint about the room at all was when someone rented room 84 (other side of the bathroom wall) and used their jet tub, it was super super duper loud and the floor rumbled from about 8pm-11pm one night so that was annoying. Front desk said she would call them if it didn't stop by 11... Very friendly, very accomadating, will absolutely book here again next time!
