Asteras has never disappointed. Excellent food, drinks, and service. Their lamb roast is second to non, and their Eckmec (no idea how it's spelled) for desert is angelic. My fience and I have been there multiple times with family and friends, and it has never been disappointed. If you like Greek food, this is the place. Don't go anywhere else.

Hands down BEST greek food i have ever had. The atmosphere is so unique and warming and the service was another level of fantastic (my servers name was Faith). Peter made sure every table feel like a VIP table, personally greeting and saying goodbye to each guest. I can't wait to come again when I am back in beautiful Nanaimo.

The stars are too high in reviews but the moussaka was not totally refreshing I guess because the meat used isn't good to digest but I had tofu the other day and the vegetarian moussaka didn't come with any rice unless requested so I missed out on that one. The potatoes were too filling too and wish there was more salad instead. I wish the server would have brought up the two options when I questioned the meat sauce. A cool experience up the beautifully tiled stairs though.

We called in for a dinner reservation this evening. The lady answering the phone first off sounded miserable. We tried to lighten the phone call with a chipper tone and she responded with the same meh tone. We asked if it was possible to get a table and she put us on hold where we could hear everything. Someone else came onto the line saying “how can I help” you and I responded with “I’ve actually been on hold for nearly five minutes seeing if we can get a table tonight” and she snapped back saying “well actually it’s only be just over three minutes”. Needless to say I said we wouldn’t come back again and ended the phone call. It’s our anniversary and we’ve been up in comox for the day and wanted to come down to enjoy the good food. Too bad staff left a sour taste in our mouths.
One of the best restaurant experiences ever. The place inside looks sooo lovely Greek, the staff seems to be authentic, dramatic Greek and the food is absolutely delicious, Greek of course. Price on the higher side but fair for the fantastic experience.

Staff is incredible Who I believe to be owner - needs to sell Been two times and food is the worst I have ever tasted. Owner is way too on hands and in my view abusive. We witnessed abuse towards kitchen staff and for that I can’t support a business. The two pictures I have posted was the second time they brought it to me and it wasn’t even eatable either time. We tried to leave early as I was literally sick from the treatment of the staff but the extremely cheap quality of meat. We were tried to be smoothed over by a piece of desert, but at this moment we were unable to even stay. Nothing was taken off the bill even though my first meal (Meat) frozen with no taste tomato sauce poured over top. The first time we went I had the lamb and I am certain the sheep was 30 years old as it wasn’t lamb. We won’t ever go again as the quality of products used isn’t the chefs fault but the owner. Lamb should be tender and flavoured, and beef medallions should almost melt in your mouth. Beautiful old house with beautiful staff they would benefit from a revamped owner, or a new one. Pointer - dried herbs while cooking and fresh herbs as garnish. Basics !
