The drinks were made to perfection. The food was fresh and delicious! The server (Jordan) greeted us with a warm welcome. The atmosphere was relaxing. Music was chill- overall a great experience. We will be back- I highly recommend this hidden gem.

Went here for the first time yesterday abd it did not disappoint!! The service was excellent from the minute we walked in until we left, the food was delicious and the Mango Margarita is a must!!! I'll definitely be back! Oh and an added bonus? Prices were reasonable:)

My wife and I ordered smash burgers from Bar Luna for takeout, and unfortunately this was the final straw after multiple disappointing experiences.
When we got home and opened the boxes, the buns were clearly burnt — not “well toasted,” not “done right,” but genuinely burnt, which completely ruined the burgers. There’s a big difference, and this crossed it. The overall quality of the food was subpar, especially considering the price point.
This isn’t the first time we’ve been disappointed here, but it is the first time we complained. We were asked to send photos (as if they weren’t aware of what was being sent out), which we did. The only resolution offered was a gift card. While that might work for some people, we declined — we have no interest in returning or ordering again.
Mistakes happen, but consistently poor food and sending out burnt items speaks to a bigger issue. Nanaimo has plenty of great places to eat, and unfortunately this one has lost our business.

We were absolutely thrilled with our visit to Bar Luna! After getting off the ferry around 5 pm and feeling super hungry, we were so lucky to pick this spot. Our food came out in under 10 minutes, and the burrito was the biggest we’ve ever had in Vancouver—hearty, flavorful, and definitely tummy-approved! 🌯✨
The atmosphere was cool and lively. The music was a bit on the loud side during our visit (especially with the crowd noise), but honestly, the great food and quick service made up for it.
💡 Tip: Don’t miss the extra chili salsa (medium spicy)—it takes the flavor to another level!
Decided to have dinner here at the last minute and so glad we did. Got in just before last call for food (7:30 on a Thursday) and had an excellent meal. Carne Asada burrito was delicious, the steak perfectly cooked. And the chips (with dips) were perfect. Highly recommend!

Great spot in an old fire station. Building has lots of character, food is awesome if you're celiac or GF. Highly recommended if you're gluten free. They have a seperate fryer. So they can do fries and battered fish 😊
