Firstly, the food is great and the staff are all very friendly. Secondly, the server was lovely... However, the table next to us was seated at the same time as us but received both drinks and food before our order was even taken. Very disappointing. Lastly, I would suggest the owners should find and remove the wasp nest that must be nearby the patio. Trying to eat while being attacked by so many wasps was almost unbearable. I will avoid this place during wasp season but will go again for a second try when that passes.

Non-existent Service. TERRIBLE.
The ferry dropped us off, and we were seated right away. We watched the ferry leave for Nanaimo and come back — and in that approximate 30 minutes, no one had taken our drink orders. Wild.
It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get our food. During that entire time, our server never once came by to ask if we wanted more drinks or check in at all.
When the food finally arrived, we had to ask another server for drinks because we still hadn’t seen our original server. Five minutes later, the original server finally showed up — only to confirm the drink order the other server had already taken. Wow. LOL.
The drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive… and by then, we had already finished our mains.
The restaurant wasn’t even busy.
An experience to forget.
A shrimp po’ boy served on a brioche bun? Try a white hot dog bun from Superstore or Costco — at best.

This ferry/restaurant/pub is grossly overpriced for lunch/dinner. I understand they need to make there operation viable with a limited season however serving below par food and boat ride does them no favour's. Our recent visit for 3 adults and 2 children including ferry/taxes/tip, cost $349.00 Which family's around Nanaimo can justify this amount of money.

Part of our vacation plans was coming here for lunch. A relaxing ride out on their ferry. Had the halibut and chips (100% yum!!). Our server Ava was amazing. When I come back out, The Dinghy Dock Pub is on my list.

If you hadn’t told me it was a crab cake I wouldn’t have guessed. All filing no crab. At $22 +$5 for extra cake, an expensive disappointment. White Sangria was tasteless. They tried to fix it but not worth it, fortunately they comped it. All in all disappointing trip. $28 ferry for the two of us and $90 bill including tax and tip made for an expensive trip. Great views but pricey menu.

I got the Po Boy that was advertised as “brioche” and it came on a Costco brand hotdog bun. For 25$, they wouldn’t even substitute fries for a Greek salad. The chef needs a serious reality check. Server was hired for one reason only (if you catch my drift) nice view, terrible dining experience.

Caught the ferry to visit this pub. What a really cool place. Ashley was an outstanding server. Checking in on us to let us know when drinks were on our way, food and how everything was tasting. We felt very well looked after.
Service is always very good 👍 the location is such a blast, but the food sucks, sorry, and the prices for the low end food weighs out the experience! So be prepared for entry level food and tiny portions...

Fun trip across the water for a late lunch. The beer I chose had run out, so I was recommended another beer, which came in a can and not tap as the menu stated, apparently ran out of that too. Food was ok, nothing special. Overall, good to experience, but no need to return.
