Driftwood Great Chinese Buffet

Wow. Son drove there to get order and they said no order under name given. I get a call say they have order. My son comes home so I call them and say that you’ll need to discount me for having to drive there again. No one could figure out what to do. They call back 10 min later and ask if I’m picking up order. No discount. I say I’ll go some where else and they were fine with that. Place is going downhill. Won’t be back.

Kid-friendliness: This place is very friendly towards all people of race, age, and gender indentity. There is even a cute robot cat server that rolls around the resturant from time to time, it even sings for you. I definitely recommend bringing your friends and family to this place.👍👍👍

I don't want to be one of those people who compares the Lower Mainland restaurants to the Island, but this is simlly not real chinese food. The lack of flavours is insulting to authentic Chinese food. Driftwood should never expand to the Lower Mainland , especially Richmond, because if you do you'll be out of business within a week. À

We ordered chicken chow mien, beef chop suey, egg foo young, special fried rice & sweet & sour pork. We were so disappointed! There was absolutely no flavour so much so you could not tell the difference between the beef chop suey or the chicken chow mien, the beef was tough and flavourless. The only vegetable was tons of broccoli with a few carrots thrown in and the egg foo young was awful. Serving sizes have decreased and prices have gone up. We will not be ordering from or going there anymore.

Poorly organized customer service. We called for a large family reservation 2 nights in advance, and they had given away the only table that would work for our group of 14.This was not the first or last time I’ve had plans ruined by them. Really unfortunate cause their food (and takeout) is usually quite good.

Hands down, best Chinese buffet in Nanaimo. Everything was fresh and flavourful. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Clean, uplifting atmosphere.

Last evening we went here to enjoy some good food. We usually enjoy the food and service but last evening turned into a total disaster.
When the food came for the two ladies, their first taste was not good at all. The food was cold and when we told the waitress she took the food and brought it to the kitchen and when it came back it turned out they were microwaved!! We would have thought she would have brought new plates but the old dishes reheated. This is unacceptable.
We will not be going back to this establishment.
