We had Katie as our waitress, and she was so pleasant and welcoming for our party of 5. Unfortunately, there must have been a chip in the floor and a drink went all over my friend’s boyfriend. She apologized and comped his next drink(s) and meal. His girlfriend also got discounted as her purse was soaked. The manager that night denied the request of comping drinks and meals, and Katie stood up and said she had already told us what was expected of her service. Well done Katie. Thank you for looking after all of us. We will definitely be back to have Katie as our server.

Great charcuterie concept and amazing customer service. Staf who helped us was very upbeat and they are trained to talk about what is on your board so you can ask them all sorts of questions. Atmosphere is generally mellow with a bit of ominousity (they keep dark lighting) so be prepped for that.

Love, love, love this place. I’ve always loved charcuterie boards and Nanaimo doesn’t have any other place like this. It’s a great date place, it’s also great for large parties. They change up the menu often so there’s new things almost all the time which makes it even more fun, highly recommend if you are visiting Nanaimo.

Cute little place. Dark and moody. It was a pretty chilly as there was a cold draft right at our table. Got the charcuterie for 2. Super disappointed with food, huge amount of crackers but not enough meats or cheeses for said crackers. 6 small pieces of cheese, 6 of meat. The added extra $ for hummus was flavourless, and the service….. well there hardly wasn’t any. Our waiter didn’t even check in to see if we would like another drink. We did however order the dessert board after and it was delicious and well worth the price.

I chose to go to Embers to celebrate a personal milestone and I was absolutely enthralled by the experience.
First things first, I made a reservation only about 20 minutes before I arrived and the wait to be seated (just for a table to be cleared) was negligible.
I got a lovely, private spot, ordered a delightful rosé and got started on putting together my charcuterie board. I'll admit it—the selection was so broad that it was easiest to just choose a little bit of many of my favourites to get to know the menu a bit better.
When my charcuterie board arrived, it looked like a veritable cornucopia—there were little sides I didn't really expect and the presentation was to die for. To say that I was left satisfied is to say nothing. This outing has been one of my best dining experiences in my 7+ years in Nanaimo.
Oh, and for whatever reason, I also got some tasty, free dessert. What a treat! I highly recommend Embers to one and all, whether you want just a fun night out or a way to celebrate a special night.

Absolutely amazing. What a great space with phenomenal service and top tier food. Surprisingly well priced. If we HAD to make a complaint it would be that the music (while a great playlist) didn't add to the ambience. That is the worst thing we could possibly say! We will be back as often as possible. A definite must try.
