Food was horrible, almond chicken was nearly cooked with raw batter, sweet and sour pork tastes fishy with lots of fat and gristle and tastes like it’s 3 days old. All the food was cold and went in the trash waste of $130 do not get take out here!

We've been here a couple times and LOVE the atmosphere and attention to detail in the decor! Service has been great both times and the server was attentive, though it hasn't been very busy in the restaurant so can't say if that might result in a different experience. The food is mostly tasty and not heavily salty or sweet which is refreshing. Meat and veggies are well cooked and fresh, and not overdone, though there's something possibly acidic missing that could be added to give the flavour a bit of punch. Other than that we were happy with our orders of Singapore noodles and cashew chicken, plus egg rolls. We would recommend to anyone looking for simple and tasty Chinese food in Nanaimo, with great ambiance!

When I walked in, the Golden Inn blew my mind with it's ornate Chinese painted carvings all over the walls and ceiling. I felt like I was in an ancient Chinese temple. The food was good, pretty standard Americanized Chinese food. I recommend the pan fried dumplings.
Chicken wings bloody. Sweet sour pork grisly. Chicken chow sprouts not much noodles. Complained still have to pay. Bad suppliers.

The food and service is amazing! I'm blown away how good the Peking duck was. Don't sleep on the 3 course soup version either. Beef Chow fun was delicious as was the beef brisket hot pot. Rivals Vancouver quality.

Don't let the fancy interior fool you, the food is just okay if that, we ordered the ginger chicken and it was all onions and a couple pieces of chicken, sure it comes out fast but very expensive and no flavor, poor customer service as well, Da Tang is much better, really any Chinese place is better, i call this place Golden Ghetto
