We had the Cruffins and they were delicious!

Went in today, (Saturday May 24th at 4:00ish), and found a yummy looking cake, (salted caramel-chocolate cake)

We were greeted by a very friendly and super helpful young man.

Got the cake home, and it was moist and delicious, it was iced perfectly!

I ordered a custom cake and paid $115 upfront for the cake. I provided a photo of the exact cake I wanted. I confirmed with me that they could execute the requested design. The cake was a completely different colour. There were no cherries as the baker “forgot”. They blamed the colour on the type of butter they use. I myself am a baker and know that any quality of butter will turn the icing a yellow hue. Any experienced baker would know you add purple to cancel out the undertone. The piping was terribly done, looked sloppy and was sliding in certain areas. It looked nothing like the photo. There were smear marks on the top of the cake from where they had rewritten the number 22 repeatedly. When I sent an email and complained I received a response from Liam essentially saying tough luck. I wasn’t offered a refund- or even a partial refund. I then provided photos as proof and was ignored. Take your business elsewhere. They will take your money without telling you they don’t have the skills to pull off your requested design then deliver a sloppy discoloured cake and ghost you. Awful experience. Yikes!

I ordered a custom cake from here for my birthday and I definitely would recommend them. They explained everything to me clearly, what they could and couldn’t do, etc. They were very nice and respectful in all the communications. I also found their pricing to be reasonable. And as for the actual cake, the decoration turned out adorable and homey, and the taste was super delicious. I loved it <3 and everyone else loved it too. It was definitely a highlight of my birthday! Thank you to the whole team for your efforts. <3

I like their sougerdough toasted pumpkin seeds and ham croissant it is big!.

Pricey but always something different too choose from,,bought a valentine cake,was small and expensive, but was very good

They made a custom cake for my husband birthday! It was incredibly beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend this little gem

10/10 experience with Hearthstone bakery. We ordered our wedding cake here back in October. They had a great tasting option and worked with us to execute me exact vision. I wish my photographer got a better photo of the front of the cake with the red roses cluster but unfortunately this is the only one I have. We’ve also gotten a birthday cake for our son here which, look how adorable. Each event has been a wonderful experience and the product it self also absolutely delicious and raved about. Thank you to the whole team!

Such a cute bakery with the best everything in Nanaimo!! Ordered a cake for my mom's birthday and it was absolutely perfect! Always a pleasure going in and seeing the workers too, they're always so sweet.

Amazing Nanaimo bars and cookies. Pleasantly surprised by their white chocolate Nanaimo bars. The staff there was incredibly helpful and kind.

I ordered a $80 vanilla cake for a special celebration; I was excited to support a local bakery that I had never tried. Unfortunately, the cake was hard as a rock and dry. The bakery instructed that I take the cake out of the fridge one hour before serving. At the time, I didn’t think much about that; I followed these instructions. Everyone who tried one bite of the cake at the celebration party noted how awful it was, which I felt terrible about. The entire cake went into the garbage. I suspect the cake was frozen for a great time as I ordered it weeks in advance. Plus, the cake was abnormally heavy and dense. I reached out to their team via email one week ago to communicate my negative experience (no response). They obviously do not value their customers or their experiences - poor customer service and awful cake. Do not recommend.
