I visited Horang to have lunch with friends who had recommended this restaurant. It was quite empty at midday, I did not notice any specific reference to Korea in the ambience. I ordered a Korean (spicy chicken) box. Food was ok, noodles were the best out of 5 different dishes in the box. Miso soup was good but difficult to eat with the kind of spoon they provide. Overall the food was ok but rather cool than hot. Service was ok, the waitress was helpful but rarely smiled. If I compare with Nori rest (same owner) the quality is much inferior, cheaper though, which was a plus. In summary, I rather recommend Nori rest in Nanaimo if you want to eat good Asian food.

We've been here many times and the food and drinks are consistently great tasting, with huge portions.Service is a bit hit or miss but usually reasonable.Recommendations are the mandu, Korean fried chicken, Yuzu salad, Yuzu lemonade, makgeolli, short ribs and the pork donkatsu.

I was blown away by the ambience, menu and stellar service!Our server Georgia, was so attentive and came correct with her suggestion of the tteokbokki. It was probably top 10 of things I've ever tried.Her drink suggestion went over so well with not only our table, but the table (of strangers) next to us.Red Hott Margaritas for the WIN!!If you have the chance; try Horang today.For an even better experience, ask to be seated in Georgia's section!

Went in for a birthday dinner for a relative. The Korean chicken was good, and surrounding very nice. The service was fine, except our server simply dropped off our bill and left without conversation on whether we'd like another, coffee or dessert. Not cool.

First I will say that the meals that we got for our party of 6 where all really good. With one exception and it was my wife's Galbi JJim the world famous short ribs the short ribs were great but the rest of the meal did not arrive for at least 15 minutes later we tried asking, the place was very busy and our waitress was busy with another very large table. Finally another server person brings the rest of her coarse to her but says sorry the rice ran. So by then the table has finished there meals and we said it was a little late. Our server did a good job overall and I can not blame her 100%. I feel that the breakdown was with the Kitchen and never informed her the situation. When telling her of the situation she was very apologetic and offered us rice for take out. Thats was not what we really wanted to hear. We really only got half the meal so the experience of dinning on there Famous Galbi JJIm was not so famous. I feel would we should of been offered at least a 25% discount on that Entree do to there error. When we got the bill there was no adjustment to the bill so the only way for us to show our disapprove was to give 1/2 a tip. So a Tip to Owners please when half a meal only arrives and there is a mistake by the kitchen give the server the ability to offer a bit of a discount so she does not loose on the tip side for the service she provided. Will we go back of coarse of the food and service is normally is excellent. They had a off night.
