Cheeseburger was amazing. Nice and crispy lattice smash patty , fresh soft bun and crisp veg. Onion rings hot and delicious. I only gave it a 3 for atmosphere because it’s inside a mall.
We were passing through Nanaimo and I asked Reddit where we should stop for lunch. Joe Burger came up a couple times so we decided to check it out.
It’s tucked inside a dying mall, which are usually my favourite types of malls to visit. A bonus was that this mall allows dogs on leash everywhere inside.

Joe Burger might be tucked away in a tiny Nanaimo mall — a bit of a weird location — but the food is absolutely terrific. The onion rings, fries, and burger were cooked to perfection. I’m incredibly picky about fries, but these were crisp, golden, and delicious. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. Plus, it’s run by a cute guy, which doesn’t hurt. I’ll definitely be coming back.
