Oh wow the food here is amazing so close to homemade. Whenever I’m on the road for work I try to seek out these restaurants owned and operated by caring local people. Hey when you find someone who uses real freshly roasted turkey breast in a Sandwich that’s a keeper. I could easily spend the same amount or more on fast food, you get my point ! A must when you’re in Nanaimo

One of Nanaimo's not so secret, not so hidden, hidden gems. Serving all day breakfast and a lunch menu, this is one of the best casual spots to come for a bite to eat. Prices are fare, portions are decent and service is fairly quick, even when the restaurant is packed. Youre not a local if youve never eaten at Kelly's so get on it!

This is a great little breakfast spot. We ate here three times while visiting Nanaimo. Food was really good with the best bacon I’ve ever eaten. Servers were attentive and friendly.

One of the worst meals we have ever had at Kelly's eggs were way undercooked and cold potatoes were burnt and bacon and ham were both undercooked. Told the waitress her answer was I'll tell the kitchen. Went up to pay wasn't even asked how our breakfast was. Very dissapointing not to mention it was over half an hour to get our food while people who came in after us had their food before us. Time to look for a new breakfast spot I guess

I’ve eaten here before and already knew the food was spectacular (seriously, their all-day breakfast is the kind of thing you daydream about). The atmosphere is warm, the people are kind, and the coffee hits the spot. But today, Kelly’s Kitchen proved they’re more than just a cafe—they’re a lifesaver.
Here’s the story: I stopped at the Co-op station, filled up my tank, and realized the bathroom was out of order. Panic set in. Then, like a beacon of hope, I remembered Kelly’s Kitchen Cafe. I rushed over, explained my dire situation, and the owners didn’t just say yes—they welcomed me with smiles. The whole staff waved me off like I was family, and the sweetest older lady (who I’m guessing is the owner) wished me a wonderful day on my way out.
Mind you, I wasn’t even a paying customer at that moment, but they still treated me like I belonged. That’s the kind of place this is.
So if you’re in Nanaimo, do yourself a favor: skip the chains, head to Kelly’s Kitchen Cafe, and order yourself a proper breakfast. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe even a little spoiled. This place is amazing.
