Decent not exceptional but not disappointing brunch. Our son loves their hot dog with peanut butter and bacon so I did it at brunch without the dog (great combination) . Service was exceptional. We will be back in our ongoing search for the best wings. Should be good.

This place is an absolute gem, the staff are diligent and friendly, the owners are incredibly nice and the food is outstanding. If you go be sure to try the in house tater tots and the chicken wings, both are to die for! Highly recommended!

These 5 stars are because of Julia, a server at Landlubber. She is one of the best servers ever. She gets to know her customers and treats them incredibly well with very quick and friendly service. I've been to the landlubber several times, and I'm generally happy with food and service. My friend Miranda is a regular there with the dart league and has told me, "I love my servers at many venues, but Julia is by far the best I've ever had."
We’ve recently moved back into the area and heard good things about Landlubber, but our first time a few nights ago was concerning. We were served by an older blonde lady and once we had been seated, we were quickly forgotten about.. When attempting to flag her down about our orders, we saw her drinking alcohol behind the bar and I’m pretty sure that’s not allowed, if not illegal? If the service was great, it would be somewhat excusable, but to reek of alcohol and forget about your section of customers is super unprofessional.
The food and drinks we did enjoy, but I don’t think we’ll be back again while this server is allowed to be under the influence on shift.

This pub, while serving a variety of food and calls themselves a neighborhood pub does not permit under 19 year olds to eat with their family, (in our case the person was a few months short of 19) in the afternoon no less. Not a friendly place. Backwards thinking. Their reply isn't exactly true. Pubs that serve food like the Landlubber can and usually do apply for the ability to serve minors. This has been the law since 2013. They don't want minors so they may have not applied. It is their choice if they want to serve minors food when they apply for or update their license. If they wanted to, they could have updated their license, just like the many other pubs we've been to. This is the norm. They are making it sound like their hands are tied. If they wanted to serve families with teens, all they have to do is apply. Common place in Europe and even in good old Nanaimo.
