Longwood Brew Pub & Restaurant

the only thing ive ever had here is the calamari and the halibut and chips. both are awesome, though a bit pricey. would advise against getting the blueberry calamari; it doesnt really add much and costs an extra $4. if this restaurant ever closes down im leaving nanaimo.

This is our go-to pub whenever we're in the north end of Nanaimo, and it's easy to see why. The service is always great, and the staff go the extra mile to make sure you're happy. If any hiccups do occur, they are quick to identify the issue, take accountability, and make things right.

They have a well-rounded menu, all the way from their drinks to the desserts. I've had mixed drinks as well as their own brand of brew, and they do not disappoint! Great accompaniment to the food.

Usually, we only get drinks and burgers, but don't skip over the appy selection. Their nachos are generously portioned, and ideal for sharing with larger parties. Don't overlook the pastas either. They have some on special occasionally, and their chicken carbonara is especially comforting. If you're in the mood for fish and chips, their halibut option is well worth the price.

The dessert menu has several great items, but none hold a candle to their dark chocolate dunkel cake. It's so tall that when our server brought it to our table, a member of our party audibly gasped and one even had a chuckle. It's a rich chocolate and the sauces and garnishes pair excellently with it.

Going here is a great way to support local, and it's worth the stop every single time.

I have no idea how this place gets good reviews except for the fact that there's really not that many restaurants to choose from in a smaller city.
The first time I went I ordered the beef dip. There was supposed to be cheese on the beef dip but what I got was a only a few melted shavings on the bread . The beef itself was incredibly dry. I decided to try it one more time figuring they were just having an off day. This time I tried the fish and chips. The fish was soggy on one side and the fries were lukewarm and dry like they had been sitting out for a couple of hours.
Definitely won't be going back.

It was some time ago when my lady and I had the most perfect dinner while traveling through. Been meaning to write this review for a while actually. Our server Paige was just straight up genuine with her service, conversation and menu suggestions. She left an impression on both of us. 🙂
The Taco Trio and the Ribs. I left thinking. I need to give this place a good review. Better late than never.

The food was good and the service was good overall. However, a few times I asked for water and they didn’t bring it until the very end — even after I asked several times.

We ate a lunch consisting of their Longwood Burger and their Halibut and Fries. My wife claimed this is one of the best burgers she's had. Both of us commented on the excellent fries as well. The halibut pieces are a good size. The best part of our visit, and a big shout out, to Elise, our server. She's funny and very warm to everyone she served.

BBQ chicken wings are best, we went mostly for Drinks!

We ordered the large nachos and apple pie . 3rd bite into the nachos was a long brown hair. Threw them out cuz we were so turned off . Proceeded to have the apple pie and low and behold found a long blonde hair . Eaten here many times never experienced this before today. May not be a repeat customer

Best service ANYWHERE in Nanaimo. The staff at Longwood made us feel like we were welcome and didn't treat us as a transaction 🥳 the food was really yummy. they went out of their way to make our dinner so special and now that we live closer we have and will continue to choose Longwood 🎉 thank you to all staff and management for making us feel so special.

Great beer, excellent service. It feels good here. The servers are lovely people and fun. 20oz pint of craft beer for $6 (during happy hour)?? Hell yes. Check it out.
