It's okay. It wasn't that long ago and I can't even remember what I ate for breakfast here.

The chairs are not comfortable if you're looking for that hang out at a cafe experience.

Coffee isn't very good.

They only get four stars out of me because the pastries are just that good. Not the apple danish though, that was a miss for me.

Luckily only visiting from out of town but absolutely will never return regardless. Hot drinks took 25+ minutes to arrive and when they did they weren’t accurate. Ended up having to cancel our food order because they would push it 15 more minutes, 10 more minutes…with zero communication or availability from the server as to what is happening which aids to distress, confusion and lack of clarity. I’m sure the food would’ve been good but everything about the experience from start to finish was 0 stars all around.

Australian travelling all over Canada for 2 months, this bakery cafe in Nanaimo was by far the best. Excellent espresso coffees & fresh baked pastries; friendly kind service without pressure to order more/pay a bigger tip/get you in/out pronto; welcoming unpretentious atmosphere; quiet light jazz music; lots of tables where you could quietly read or chat with a friend; broad selection of reasonably priced meals; plants; real baguettes. If you speak French, the name says it all. Thank you :-)

Nestled in the heart of Nanaimo, Mon Petit Choux offers a touch of Parisian charm on Vancouver Island. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff are genuinely welcoming, and the service is effortlessly efficient. Each pastry is a small masterpiece — buttery, flaky, and unmistakably French. A perfect stop for those seeking a refined coffee break with a hint of Europe

Nanaimo bar is better, the custard in the middle is really good and closer to ice cream, which is just good

We just experienced their pot pies for the first time and it was simply unbelievable! Don’t second guess it, I would literally book a ferry trip to Nanaimo just to come back for one!!!

Great food and lattes. Had the smoked salmon on scrambled eggs and it was delicious. The inside is a bit dated but thats part of its charm. Would recommend for a relaxing breakfast while planning your daily adventure in Nanaimo.

Our waitress and other staff were attentive. And caring. Food was delish. Had to buy up the last of the chocolate croissants-no regrets there!

I mean this in the most constructive way possible, but the cleanliness needs to be at a much higher standard for a place that serves food. No offense at all to the employees as they are all doing a lot as is, but someone needs to be hired specifically for cleanup during closing or something. Customers and employees deserve better and can be given that easily.

Great food but needs a serious makeover. I get quirky and different but this was not that, just old and ugly. The food keeps people coming though and it is really good

Fantastic Nanaimo bars.
Drove an hour for it on a Wednesday, website says open, store sign says open, but store is closed. Very annoying.

This is the 2nd time I've come to try and eat here and they have been closed. It might be time to update your hours on Google... the first time they had a sign letting customers know they were closed, today nothing.

I am disappointed because their food is so good here! I love their French toast. I hope you guys can figure the hours out so other people have the opportunity to try!

It was my first time tasting Nanaimo Bar. I bought 2 from the other stores nearby but throw them away. But the Nanaimo Bar in Mon Petit Choux was awesome, fresh and tasty. If you ever decide to taste Nanaimo Bar, without a doubt taste it here. The staff were very friendly and their hospitality was nice.
