Went for my birthday and was going to be charged 5 bucks to substitute salad the hashbrowns for salad and then money to remove the hashbrowns I wouldn’t eat. I was treated like garbage and it was uncomfortable and dirty .
I love this place so much. I judge places by their tiramisu and this one has one of the best tiramisus I’ve ever had to this date. It isn’t just creamy sugar but the flavor is coffee strong and just melts on your tongue. Just the way I like it. The place itself is beautiful and they brought the food to my table so lovely. You’ll definitely find me here whenever there’s a sunny day.
I found the Nanaimo bar too sweet and creamy here so didn't feel too good afterwards but the setting and boxing was nice. Other items must be better here
Very nice cafe!
Stopped here last week for a late breakfast on our way to Tofino and very glad we did. I had the Smoked Salmon Benny which was quite delicious and served with wonderfully crisp potatoes. The smoked wild salmon was slightly salty but I cannot fault the kitchen for that as my understanding is that they bring that in from a local supplier.
They make the benny on an in-house made croissant which was as good as any I had in Paris. We got a couple more croissant and a baguette to take on the drive with us and found the croissant is good enough to eat on it's own with nothing else when I got a bit peckish after our walk in Cathedral Grove.
My wife had an Americano which I tasted and found to be better than average, usually too weak for my taste but not this one.
The service was friendly and our order arrived quickly although it was not very busy around 11 when we went in.
I will gladly stop here again for the bread and croissants and breakfast.
The food was good, the service passable. The place needs a serious makeover.
Great food, a great atmosphere. I've been coming here for years and I love it!
Bad coffee. Many other options around
Their latte tastes like sour water. Worst latte I ever had. Service is slow and it wasn't even busy. Would not recommend this place .
This cafe used to have amazing fresh bakes, and now ...
Our croissants were old and hard to chew :(

Cream of mushroom soup was amazing. We had the ham and cheese sandwich and the vegetarian sandwich both were outstanding 👌
I’m so constituted that I’m convinced that my palate is largely dormant, as it’s the exception that I go out to eat, and am only marginally convinced afterwards that the enterprise was worth the investment.
I ordered the roast beef sandwich with brie, caramelized onion, and garlic aioli on their house-made baguette, and was amazed. Truly amazed, as you could taste the thought and skill went into the effort to make the sandwich.
I had a tomato soup du jour, which was also excellent.
It was a welcome relief to go out for lunch, and not be served ready-made GFS products, as such establishments are ten a penny.
Mon Petit Choux is the standard by which all restaurants on Vancouver Island are judged, and the others churn in its wake.
Tasty salmon benny on a croissant but coffee is terrible. Only a teaspoon of avocado. Friendly staff but they didn’t seem to know the difference between cream and milk? Cute location, a bit industrial feeling.
Wonderful food , staff and experience
Tasty brunch and breakfast at this local spot in Nanaimo!
