Australian travelling all over Canada for 2 months, this bakery cafe in Nanaimo was by far the best. Excellent espresso coffees & fresh baked pastries; friendly kind service without pressure to order more/pay a bigger tip/get you in/out pronto; welcoming unpretentious atmosphere; quiet light jazz music; lots of tables where you could quietly read or chat with a friend; broad selection of reasonably priced meals; plants; real baguettes. If you speak French, the name says it...
Had lunch today, excellent staff, friendly courteous, attentive. The food is exceptional, flavors amazing everything made fresh in there cafe/bakery. Large portions you do not leave hungry. Will definitely return

The chairs are not comfortable if you're looking for that hang out at a cafe experience.
Coffee isn't very good.
They only get four stars out of me because the pastries are just that good. Not the apple danish though, that was a miss for me.
