New York Fries

Not sure why, but lately it seems the fries are just raw, I’ve been working in the mall and eating New York fries since I was a kid, they just seem to taste like raw potato, I normally love the fries and have always thought they were the best, something is off and I hope it’s temporary.

WORST fries we have EVER had!!! Bought the bacon double cheese and it was like a cheese curd and a drip of cheddar cheese sauce ran through it quick. Fries were undercooked and mushy. Absolutely awful.!!

My favourite poutine in Nanaimo!!! It’s so consistently good every time I come here, and the staff are always very kind.

orders cannot exceed 3 components or things go missing.
Ordered a bacon double cheese poutine on 3 separate occasions and without fail something is missing.

Ordered large fries and gravy. Fries great but gravy was off tasting. Told staff that their fries were great but gravy was awful.

I had a great experience at New York Fries in Woodgrove Center. The fries were fresh, crispy, and perfectly seasoned—exactly what you'd expect from a place that specializes in fries. I tried the Butter Chicken Poutine.

The service was quick and friendly, even during a busy lunch hour. The staff seemed organized, and my order was ready faster than I anticipated.

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the price—it’s a bit on the higher side for the portion size, but the quality does make up for it.

Overall, I’d recommend New York Fries if you're in the mood for high-quality fries or poutine while shopping at Woodgrove.

Go to the till and order 2 small nacho fries 1 medium, a chilli dog and a cheese dog. Works says we only have one. So I say 2 cheese dogs. She says no we only have one. So as I watch 12 hot dogs turning and a work repeating we only have one. So after trying to figure out what she was talking about the rest weren't hot yet.. so no big deal but then we sit down to eat and the one we did get was barely warm. So won't ever go back to the mall location because even the nachos we blah at best.

Last day I went there and had butter chicken poutine. It was so good. And it’s my favourite one. I’ve never had a poutine like that before. Moreover the customer service was good. Very friendly employees. Definitely gonna go there every time.

I came here yesterday at around 12-1 and I ordered the works with chipotle aioli. I came home and a couple of hours later I was projectile vomiting and have food poisoning and can hardly move.

I stopped in and grabbed a nacho hot dog, and works fries. They had just sold out of hot dogs recently, and had put on a fresh batch on.He checked the hotdog with a meat thermometer before confirming my order to ensure it was to temp.My hotdog was generously topped with all toppings, as was my order of works loaded fries.I failed to mention when I ordered that it was going to be to go, and he saw me struggling to close my friends container, he asked if I’d like a bag, and kindly secured my meal in a bag. Very nice customer service in my opinion!It deff made my trek easier as I had another meal to go in hand for my travels !

Every time I come here the staff is so nice and quick, even if they are extremely busy! Never had a bad experience here :) I am disappointed at the wooden cutlery but I know that it’s not their fault I wish corporate would change that one small
