I used to live in Nanaimo from 2012-2016. Those were easily the best years of my life (so far). Pirate Chips was a staple! Poutine followed by the mini-donut sundae brings back memories of laughter, long days spent cliff jumping at the river, swimming across Westwood, hiking to the top of Mt. Benson, and the warm wind during sunset, skipping rocks at Pipers. Pirate Chips is part of Nanaimo for me - I always stop in when I visit - and it's always as good as I remember. ❤️
We went there a couple days ago. The stuff is very friendly and even told us some stories about the city and the things you can find on the beaches. The food was very good! One of the best fish n chips I ever had. By the way the portions are very big.
The fish and chips are good buy unfortunately the deep fried cheesecake did not meet the expectations the filling part was all but gone, maybe should have been more frozen before frying.
