I came over to Nanaimo with some friends with the EXPRESS mission to taste the best Nanaimo bars ever. We drove in Saturday afternoon and found out that sickness had taken the bakery by storm. I made a comment on thier Facebook page just saying I had driven in to taste the best bars and was so sorry that sickness had taken them; the owner commented that they would be at the shop filling an order and to stop by and that I did..16 bars later 😂 I cannot thank them enough for thier hospitality and I can say with confidence that these are THE BEST bars EVER!! The cooler is full and now I truly understand the reason that they are #1. Many thanks again to the crew of Red's Bakery, you all are top tier!! ❤️

Red’s is a gem! We traveled several hours and even hopped on a ferry to get there, only to find out they were closed due to staff illness. Disappointed but understanding, we didn’t expect what happened next—the owners saw a friend’s Facebook post about our trip and invited us to return the next morning. Not only were they open, but they had Nanaimo bars waiting for us!
And wow—those bars were everything the reviews promised. Hands down, the best in Nanaimo. The kindness and personal touch from the owners gave us that warm, small-town vibe you just don’t find everywhere. Would recommend 10000%. Red’s isn’t just a place to eat—it’s an experience worth the journey!

Delicious !! We’ve went two nights in a row on our visit to Nanaimo 😂 Nanaimo Bars are 10/10. My husband ate it all the first night so when we went back tonight, the owner handed me a sample and it was by far the best Nanaimo Bar I’ve had. Hawaiian cheesecake was my Fave & Apple Cheesecake or Oreo was my husbands. He can’t choose. What a spot !

What a great little bakery. We stopped here on recommendations from a local person while we were searching for a Nanaimo bar. The lady working the counter was very friendly and helpful. Cool vibe and atmosphere in the bakery with lots to look at. We had Nanaimo bars, beef rolls and samosas to take on the road with us. Everything was top notch and very enjoyable. Make sure you check this place out when in Nanaimo.

We ordered two items: 1. Nanomia Bar I didn’t like this one at all. The bottom biscuit layer was nice, but I didn’t enjoy the taste of the top layers. I’ve tried many similar bars before, and this was my least favorite. 2. Cheesecake This was really good—well made and nicely balanced. Everything about it was enjoyable. I strongly recommend giving it a try!
