Best coffee I’ve had. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world and consider myself somewhat of an espresso enthusiast, best beans anywhere , so much so I travel with them. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, might be the best thing in Nanaimo.

Friendly people, tastey baked goods, and really nice to be able to just get espresso with a bit of steamed milk rather than steamed milk with a little bit of espresso.

Wanted to share my appreciation for Regards Coffee Roasters on several fronts.
My most recent experiences at Regards have been while travelling from the mainland to visit my mom, who is in hospice care on Vancouver Island. My trips back home involve a lot of mental / emotional processing. On my first trip back, I decided to stop at Regards, as I LOVE a good coffee, and knew they would not disappoint. I opened the door to the cafe to be greeted with kind, genuine smiles that welcomed me into the space. That alone meant a lot. My interactions with the staff have been nothing but pleasant, and have certainly brightened my days. You never know when someone might need a smile; and I wanted to acknowledge that kindness and share my appreciation for it.
Now to the coffee. I’m a details oriented person, and very much appreciate watching folks who take pride in what they do. The staff at Regards do exactly that. Their coffees, brewed or espresso based; are wonderful, and made with great attention to detail. Expertly poured shots, beautifully textured foam and brilliant coffee art are the norm. In fact, I like the coffee so much I usually order an espresso to get me to the ferry AND a drip coffee to last me across the water to the mainland.
Staff are not in a rush and take time to interact with their customers. I commented about the coffee art on my mocha, and the barista actually took the time to show me how they poured to create their masterpiece. Very cool!
The baked goods are fresh and tasty, and include some really interesting flavour combinations.
I hesitate to provide specific comparisons, but will say that Regards is at the top of my list of good coffees, topping many of the best cafes in the Vancouver area. Well done!

I've only bought their whole bean coffee bags but wow they're good. Finally someone selling super high quality beans that aren't all burnt and oily like everywhere else. Totally worth the price. I'm actually enjoying black coffee now. I have their decaf Peru beans and the Ader Recinos, top notch
