Rhythm Chinese Restaurant（中文名逸站） (逸站中餐厅)

Ordered dinner for two. Some of the worst chicken chow mein I’ve ever had. Completely bland, flavourless and dry. They used shredded chicken that tasted like it was from a rotisserie chicken and tossed it on top.

The sweet and sour pork was just simply okay, not good, or bad just meh. The beef chop seuy was absolutely basic nothing special.

The spring were bland with a thick doughy wrapper.

No clue why this place has so much hype and following it’s nothing special the owners should up their game.

I am Chinese and this is the only Chinese place in Nanaimo I have tried that serves food that feels authentic and well cooked. My partner and I ordered several dishes, all of which were excellent. I'm looking forward to trying the more traditional dishes pictured on the wall that are off the menu.

Eggplant tofu: the eggplant was amazingly crispy, buttery and light, the egg tofu was soft and creamy. Served piping hot.

Shanxi cold noodles: delicious, well balanced dressing and tender noodles.

Shrimp har gau: their dim sum menu is very small, but these were steamed well and what I would expect from anywhere.

I can't speak to the Canadian-chinese dishes like chow mein, Kung Pao chicken, ginger beef, chicken fried rice etc but these are items I would never recommend in general at any restaurant as they are a watered down version of Chinese food made for limited western palates.

The atmosphere is a second though to the food, and there is a constant stream of people walking through the restaurant picking up orders, but the service is fast and friendly.

Flawed, but still very good!

The Good: House special eggplant and beef w/ broccoli were delicious! Closest thing to a Lower Mainland chinese meal we've had thus far. The menu had all our favorites.

The Not-So-Good: DanDan noodles were bland, the Vinegar Honey Pork we ordered was super tasty, but slightly overcooked, and we had to wait an extra 10 mins on top of the expected take-out ETA (which i suppose wasn't too bad).

However, I still give it a 4-star rating given that the food was overall quite delicious and (as mentioned earlier) easily the closest thing Nanaimo has to the Lower Mainland's chinese restaurants.

Went in to pickup my take out order after waiting 20 minutes for it to be fresh & hot from the kitchen. Was given an order from the pickup table that had been sitting waiting for someone else to pickup since I placed my order. My order when I got it home was cold. Not impressed! I was really looking forward to chinese food tonight but after getting it home cold that really wrecked my dinner. Not sure I will get chinese food from this restaurant again.

Ordered a bunch of different dishes for takeout. Everything was very tasty. Kung-pao chicken & soy pork belly were stand outs.

Brutally disappointed after reading great reviews. Ordered a combo for one and only the chow mein was edible. The sweet and sour pork was cold and despite the sauce, tough and dry. Bbq pork fried rice was also dry, cold, and bland. The dumplings tasted like spoiled meat that should have been cooked a week prior.

While I was waiting the food being served to diners in the restaurant looked delicious, so perhaps takeout just wasn’t the right choice.

Very busy but very good food, worth the wait.

Tried to order a meal combo and the server says we don't have it despite being on the website. Good food but continuous poor service. More then one occasion I've had poor service from this place.
