Today I had the best experience at Smitty’s in Nanaimo! We were quickly greeted and seated by a very sweet hostess An, she brought us waters and made sure to let our server know we were seated. Aurora quickly came to greet us with a smile after she had ran her food and got extra napkins for her first table. She was super funny and understanding about how many things we wanted to order. Our food was hot and so damn delicious!!!! I really loved getting to meet Aurora, she is seriously an amazing server(you guys are in good hands for the summer), I watched her take care of every single one of her tables with the same energy and attention to detail. Genuinely, one of the best dining experiences at a restaurant. Thank you Aurora 🫶

Went in around 12:45 ( 06,09,25 ) Greeted promptly. Sat in a quiet spot. The server ( Jordyn ) was phenomenonal. I've come here on and off for years, and she was by far the best server I've ever had.
It's a Smittys, so you can't expect much of an atmosphere. It was clean and quiet for the time of day i was here.

Ordered Monzerlla Sticks, started eating them and noticed there was no cheese in the center, so I took one bite out of the rest of them and there was no cheese either, so I showed the waitress and she took back to show the cook, and he felt very bad and came out and kept apologizing, and said let me make it up to you, at first I said no that's ok, it's not your fault but he kept insisting to make me a new batch, so I said well ok, so when they brought them out, I just got them boxed up to take home, they still took the Monzerlla Sticks off my bill, Thank you for making it right, I had them there before and never had a problem, so Kotos to the cook and staff😊, and hope you all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅 🤶 🎄.

The food was not worth coming back. Honestly, it was bland, it didn't have that allure that brought me there by word of mouth. I hope it was just an off morning.
I'll come back once more and take my review to a higher level if anything progresses. I don't like to give bad reviews. Especially when the staff is great, but just being honest, make sure that everybody knows what's up.
Ordered the two piece fish and chips as they had a deal for 50 percent off. We each got only one fish, a tiny amount of fries and they missed the gravy that was asked for and no tartar sauce. The mini donuts were over cooked and oily. Very disappointed.

We recently visited Nanaimo and came to this location 2 mornings for breakfast. I have a wheat allergy, and they were easily able to accommodate me. They don't have gluten free toast options, but offered tomato or Avocado instead. I had a 2 egg breakfast with bacon and shredded hashbrowns. It was really tasty and plenty of food. Our server was great. The only downside of the whole experience was how rundown the place is. The booth seats were worn, torn, and disintegrating. It made for very uncomfortable seating. The bathroom was clean but very poorly lit.
