Horrible service and heartless staff who clearly don't care about the people they serve.

Wow, it’s Nov 13th -5:30am and I just want to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for making the perfect iced coffee - your questions were incredible (I asked for light ice and they asked if I wanted an increase in caffeine or cream to replace the ice) I thought wow… such a cool question. The breakfast sandwich was tasty as usual the music gave me such a warm, cozy feeling and the atmosphere was such a nice winter scape. A great start to the morning I feel nothing can stop this from being a great day now :D

The staff there is always really kind to me when I need to charge my phone, even when I don't buy anything. Also, Blaire Riley works there, and I think he is doing an amazing job there. Management should consider giving him a raise and a promotion.

I am not a Starbucks person
One of the worst Starbucks experiences in Canada – overpriced, underwhelming, and un-Canadian
I don’t normally write reviews, but my experience at Starbucks Port Place Mall in Nanaimo deserves a warning to others. Starbucks is already one of the most expensive coffee shops, but at this location, the customer service doesn't even come close to matching the price tag.
If I’m paying premium prices, why am I being told to go put in my own cream and sugar like it’s a fast food joint? At half the price, nearly every other local coffee shop offers better service, better attitudes, and actual value. Even Tim Hortons – which is cheaper – manages to make you feel like a customer, not an inconvenience.
The worst part? Reheated egg sandwiches being sold for more than freshly made breakfasts elsewhere. Why would anyone pay more for microwaved food when real, fresh options exist just steps away? It’s ridiculous.
And this raises a bigger question: why is an American chain allowed to come into Canada and insult Canadian customers with this level of quality and service? If you want to do business here, act like you care. If you’re not going to prepare food fresh on site, you should be legally required to lower your prices. Period.
We have amazing Canadian coffee shops all around us—cheaper, better, and far more respectful. It’s time to buy Canadian. Starbucks has lost the plot, and clearly, they’ve forgotten who their customers are.
Save your money. Go literally anywhere else.

I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life. I’m next in line and your cashier ignores me and takes the man behind me. When I’m standing there right in front of her till with my money and a man walks in front of me and she serves him instead of me. I asked her why didn’t you serve me? She said, “ I said next in line and you ignored me so I took the man behind you” I’ve never felt so invisible in my life and I will never ever go back into your restaurant again and I will be phoning your head office.

Tons of flies buzzing around the serving area. Nasty.
Great service
