nanaimo has a decent nightlife for a town of its size, with the caveat that you have to look around to find spots you like. corner lounge is definitely a place worth checking out if you like karaoke or small, cramped bars with a chatty clientele and friendly staff.

As a regular customer & frequently tolerated bad singer, for almost 36 months, I ALWAYS enjoy bartender Erin & her unsinkable cheerful spirit. (I don't do fazeboook) ..So...was shocked last night by news of young staff member Parker's sudden untimely death. ...could not find within me any mood to sing. Not even badly. Feeling a lump in my throat. My condolences to all staff in shock. And of course his closest family and friends. RIP Parker, you too were such a cheerful spirit as Karaoke Jockey....you're gone from this world way too soon. RIP. I'm verklempt.

Wanted to edit this review because my thoughts on this place have changed considerably. I wrote a 3 star review some amount of months ago, citing the hit and miss service for my middle of the road rating. Since then, Erin has gone above and beyond to make sure my friends and I are comfortable with great service every time I’ve stopped by. Fun times here 🙂
