Always like to try new places when we go out for the day. Came across this place on an internet search. Since my knowledge of the area was a bit on the side of none. It took sometime for me to find lol.
Its actually co-located with a studio bar called The Globe in a building I am told is the third oldest hotel in Nanaimo. I liked the vibe from the place. Ive added photos of the bar and The Kebap menu.
Anyway, The Kebap is a take-out only when the bar isnt operating. There was a short lineup when I got there, but that got cleared pretty quick.
The menu is basic, so I chose a Beef Shish Wrap and a Ottoman Beef Sandwich, they come with tzatziki sauce, the wrap and sandwich were huge!! Though I was expecting more on the flavour side (a bit boring).
I certainly want to check the place out when they have bands in house, this place must just rock! The Globe has FB page and some steamed videos on youtube. Check it out.

With 90 dollars (tax and tip included) you only get these meat. I don't recommend you buying it for the size... especially the owner mentioned each serving feeds 2 people. So all these should feed 6 people ... That's not even close.... Taste is ok, the owner's attitude was good, but definitely the food is over priced...... Come over at your own judgement.

Had the Ottoman Chicken. Great Sandwich. Kind of a cool little hole in the wall. Bread was soft, chicken was moist and tender, all around great sandwich.

Our family bought five burritos, two with beef and lamb, and three with beef. It is very delicious and must not be missed. My son was full of praises after coming here a year ago. Even if he is abroad, he wants to eat it as soon as he comes back. Also, please note that they only open at 2pm, so don’t go early, it’s definitely a hidden gem in the city! ! 5 stars!

Highly recommend this place. Mustafa cares about the food he is serving and it shows. It is absolutely delicious! We went there to taste his food and ended up loving it so much, we ordered it for our wedding. The guests absolutely loved it. He was able to accommodate dietary restrictions on special request. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Use them for your next event. Thank you Mustafa for the wonderful service, we would recommend Kebap to everyone!

Food was yummy, staff was welcoming but there was not free parking as it is located near downtown and I couldn’t find the location easily. It is not a place for dine in, you need to take out your food.

The location of the restaurant is very unassuming and not noticeable but don’t be misled by the look. I ordered chicken kebab sandwich it probably was the freshest I had in a while. I had to wait but chicken was grilled perfectly. The sandwich was tasty and filling.
The owner was very personable and nice.
Reminded me of my time in Turkey with all variety of kebabs there is and even of good souvlaki in Greece.

Don’t miss this gem! We came across this restaurant about a year ago and never looked back. It’s a staple in our household and we can’t go more than a couple of weeks without it. Our favourite dishes are the chicken platter and the ottoman sandwich. The chicken is juicy and charred to perfection. The bread is soft in all the right places and toasty where it matters. The salad is fresh and the dressing is super complimentary to the rest of the meal, especially to the rice. If I haven’t sold you on this spot yet, let me tell you about the owner: no man is more proud of his food and of serving his community than the chef/owner of The Kebap. He always greets you with a smile, packs your food with care, and asks you about your day. Honestly, if you’re looking for a wholesome experience and delicious food, don’t think twice! The prices may seem steep, but the portion sizes and quality are well worth it. Also, call the restaurant directly to order.
