We went there for my birthday and anniversary. Order the chicken pasta. Hardly any chicken. My wife ordered het steak medium well. It came almost raw. Told the server and he said they go by temp. Not a good night for $160.00 . We have been going to the next since they were in a smaller locations. Very disappointed

I just wanted to give a big shout out to the Nest Bistro! We had our staff Christmas party there last night, and I'm so glad we chose them. From start to finish, the night was flawless. The staff was amazing -- friendly, energetic, and on top of everything. The food was outstanding, and the deserts were absolutely incredible. We can't thank them enough for making our event so memorable. If you're ever looking for a local restaurant where the food is made from scratch using local fresh and organic(when possible) ingredients, I highly recommend the Nest Bistro!

They watch you outside of their window and as soon as they see that you're not walking into their establishment, they scream at you that it's private parking. The parking lot was completely empty. They didn't have a single customer inside. There were no signs saying no parking. I was parking there for 5 minutes to deliver a parcel. Not very friendly people.

One of my favorite places to go for a nice dinner in Nanaimo! It's a great location to celebrate a birthday or enjoy a nice date night. The food is pricier but well worth it for a once in a while splurge.
I have not seen a restaurant that compares to the Nest Bistro - it's beautiful, quiet enough, and the window makes you feel like you're on the 5th floor. They have a very classy and traditional service, partnered with an excellent menu. What I noticed was that they were very conscious of your experience, instead of just throwing stuff at you, hoping it sticks. They took the time to present options, and compliment your food with the right choices by helping you along.
Ultimately, I was surprised at the discovery of this place, and would highlight it for next time I'm back in Nanaimo.
Parking: The location is under the sign, although conspicuous, so make sure you just look down the porch. They were full when we went, so the sign wasn't out, but they made room for us.

Owner was very rude. I had a vehicle breakdown, pulled into her parking lot, and explained that we were from out town and stopped to check on a smoking engine. She told us to leave because she had a "full" restaurant. Myself (mom) and my two kids left. We decided not to eat here because of this. We walked by 15 mins later, and then again 1.5 hrs later, there were only 2 cars in her parking lot each time. She didn't ask if we had reservations or planned to eat there. There are so many great restaurants in the area. So glad we waste our money here.
