If you haven’t checked out Piper’s Pub yet, you should. In my opinion, this is one of the best menus I’ve seen in Nanaimo.

The owners clearly know what they’re doing. They’re not new to the restaurant scene — they also run Poké Bowl and Sushi Ryu, which already have a great reputation in town.

Everything I’ve tried on the menu so far has been awesome, and I love that there’s more seafood on the menu than you usually see at a pub. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.

One fun feature is the 88-ounce beer tower at your table so you can pour your own 🍺 — great idea for hanging out with friends.

The service isn’t the fastest, but every time I’ve gone it’s been busy, which probably explains why. And honestly, that says a lot about how popular the place already is.

The atmosphere is fantastic — it really feels like you’re in a great pub somewhere far away from Nanaimo, which makes it a fun place to relax and spend some time.

I’ll definitely be going back. 👍

I've been there at least twice, and my husband and I took the whole family there around mid July for Brunch....outstanding. Three Foodies, and four that have lived in other countries and provinces, and all of us would highly recommend Pipers to anyone!! Wonderful new owners!

Horrible bunch. Egg shells in my eggs benny. Toast hard and cold. Butter cold. Eggs requested sunny side up and received over hard. I am never going back

Ignore the old listing that says “Permanently closed”. The Piper’s under new ownership is open and AWESOME!

Whether you’re craving a benny, burger, bugogi bowl or the BEST sushi you’ve ever had, The Piper’s is not to be missed.

I heartily recommend the Golden Dynamite Roll and the sweet chili KFC (Korean fried chicken).

The atmosphere is very relaxing, the eclectic menu will please everyone, and the staff go the distance to ensure you and your guests have a wonderful time.

Situated on Hammond Bay Road, it’s a beautiful drive along the oceanfront, and the parking when you get there is generous. What’s not to love?

It’s become a date night destination for my husband and I. I know you’ll love it, too!

I ordered the pork belly dish and was extremely disappointed. It was like a meal you put together with things you need to use up in the freezer and pantry. Rice a slight amount of sauce topped with some corn, braised pork belly and thinly sliced white onions.. I was just so disappointed when it came out compared to the dishes my family got and how they looked compared to the meal I was served. I think my 4 year old could have compiled a meal that made more sense. I wasn’t even up to trying something else and was forcing myself to try and finish the meal but I gave up, I just couldn’t stomach anymore of it. Like non of the ingredients made sense together for $24. They only charged me $19 for it but honestly I wish it had just been taken off the bill but they didn’t offer that and I was too scared to try something else and honestly just too disappointed. Terrible first impression and I will not go back. Pubs should stick with pup food not try and come up with some “trendy” dishes that aren’t even executed well.

The servers were also hardly at the table and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant.
