The Terminal Bar Nanaimo is an unpretentious dive-bar-style spot located in a charming island town. This hole-in-the-wall gem offers a welcoming atmosphere, friendly bartenders, and decent prices. Its great tap selection is available at unbeatable prices, and the bar hosts regular events like Thursday karaoke night, which features a fantastic DJ and a lively atmosphere. The bar stays open until 2 AM, making it an ideal late-night hangout. There is a large outdoor patio in the back, perfect for relaxing in spring and summer, especially if you enjoy fresh air or don’t smoke.
The bar features arcade games, many coin-operated including b-ball and air hockey, and a TouchTunes jukebox, all costing only $1 per play. Drinks are very affordable, ranging from $3 to $10, which is a rare find compared to larger cities. They also serve snacks like Doritos and chips. The open stage allows anyone to get up and sing, creating a friendly, supportive environment that feels more like a gathering of friends than a typical bar.
With a $2 entry fee and cash-only policy, The Terminal Bar Nanaimo is a simple, affordable, and character-filled place to grab a drink, play games, sing, and unwind after a long day. Its relaxed vibe and community feel make it a true hidden gem in Nanaimo.
