Van Isle Poutinerie

Not the first time I was disappointed... but after today's poutine purchase at the VIEX, I feel strongly enough to write this review. Serving cold poutine to customers is bad business. It was a semi rainy and chilly day and nearing the end of the VIEX fair I wanted to share a hot and gooey poutine with my 8 year old. What I got was cold fries with lukewarm gravy which barely melted the cheese curds. What should have been a hot comforting dish was not enjoyable and triggered my son saying.. "this is cold, can we go to the mall and get New York Fries poutine instead " I'm kicking myself for not going back to ask for a hot serving or my money back. Because every $12 counts these days. Living in Nanaimo there aren't that many options for good food.. I don't think I'll be giving my money to this food truck again.

Amazing food, amazing service. Rarely been happier than with a Van Isle Poutinerie poutine in my hand. If you see the truck don't hesitate to turn around and visit Danielle and Ashley.

This company knows how to poutine! I had the pleasure of being served by them at the Coombs rodeo (several times as alot of my friends ate here). The staff is super friendly, fast and efficient! The ingredients are fresh and full of flavour. They are celiac and gluten free. Everything on their truck is recycle and compostable. I can’t say enough nice things about Van Isle Poutinerie. I highly recommend you eat here any chance you get! You will not be disappointed.

Amazing friendly staff and the best poutine I've ever had!

EAT HERE!! Absolutely wonderful poutine!!! The vegan bacon is to die for & such a great menu / options for those who have dietary restrictions.

The vegan cheese sauce is recommended by my daughter with two thumbs up. Thanks for having options for so many different dietary needs 😍

I love the huge vegan menu here, and the people are very nice! I tried the burger poutine and will definitely be back to try more. The vegan cheese curds are excellent as well

Delicious food and excellent service!

They were down at the waterfront on a cold, grey blustery day when no other food truck showed up / this is awesome commitment! Our first time visiting but definitely not the last! Ordered a classic and a cowboy poutine and cannot rave enough! The portion, the flavours and quality of ingredients were fantastic! Highly recommend, intend to work my way through their menu now 🤤

Absolutely recommend this place. We got the angry poutine and the blt poutine and both were super awesome. I can’t wait to try the maple bacon next time. Also the customer service is seriously so friendly. The lady taking orders seems to love what she does and totally sets such a welcoming atmosphere. We tried eating here for date night and it was such a great experience we will absolutely be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ be sure to check them out! For some reason my review won’t let me add pics. It would be nice if they opened when they say they will.Many people have left, they come out once in a while but don't even bother to say when they will open.Bad customer service.But the food was good.

VEGAN poutine!Our family popped in while heading up island and had amazingly good poutine. The food was prepared with great care and high quality ingredients. Super friendly people in the truck and a large Vegan menu! Highly recommend!

The owners and workers always go above and beyond with amazing service, great communication and most importantly. Amazing tasting good portioned food.In a time where everyone is trying to rob you of your money, you get alot of meat and cheese with your fries. They don't hold back.A year in and the passion for the food and service has not dulled one bit.Would live to see the open a restaurant one day to add to the culture of nanaimo. As not alot of businesses have the charm and dedication they have here
