Amazing food, amazing staff and awesome atmosphere! I came here because a friend told me about it and I was NOT disappointed! My favourite part is that it is a small business! Let’s do our part to keep them open! They deserve it!

As a regular to this restaurant , their recent staff change is absolutely the worst decision they’ve ever made.
Food is good as always
The new server( who’s a bit younger ) is just a hair away from being mean. Absolutely disastrous, she told the first person in line that he has to wait for at least an hour, and when a full restaurant is being looked after she stayed behind the counter doing god knows what. We saw two people had to came to the till to ask for food and drink. And for our table we were never looked after since our order was placed.
This is gonna be my last time dine here for awhile

I had an incredible experience at this sushi spot in Calgary. The food was absolutely immaculate — every dish was so fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. Our server was outstanding: attentive, informative, and genuinely kind. They even surprised us with a complimentary treat of seared tuna belly, and it was phenomenal — melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
We also tried the specialty fan favourite, the Waku Waku sushi roll, and it completely lived up to the hype. So delicious. The dumplings were another standout — packed with flavour and cooked perfectly. Honestly, the entire meal was memorable from start to finish.
The only thing I’d recommend improving is the seating. The chairs and benches were a bit uncomfortable and hard on the back and hips, but the overall layout and atmosphere were great.
All in all, a fantastic dining experience that I’d highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back!

There is no finer example of Japanese cuisine in Nanaimo than Wa-Ku. The tonkotsu tan-tan is one of the best meals I have ever had in my life.

The veggie Ton Ton ramen is the best in town by far. The kale noodles option is excellent!

We’ve tried the miso (spicy) ramen and tantan they were absolutely delicious! The soup was simply umami. The lady at the front was just so sweet welcoming us with a friendly smile 🌟

My wife and I both loved our ramen! It held up to our high expectations after returning from our trip to Japan. Great service, great broth, great beer.

Its a cute little place with pretty good food with decent prices and a nice variety typically unseen at similar asian restaurants. Was a bit uncomfortably warm, however it was around 25°C outside. Overall had a good experience otherwise.
