This is such a fantastic little stop in such a beautiful place! The harbour is a perfect spot to enjoy a cold treat, and they have so many ice cream flavours to choose from! The staff was also incredibly friendly and personable! 10/10 would recommend this place! :)

The best ice cream we have ever tasted!!! The service was amazing. The ice cream was delicious...we had to go back the next day just so we could have it once more before heading home! No, it's not cheap...but I love that you don't pay extra for the waffle cone....but it's good quality & homemade...I'm willing to pay more for that!!
I will definitely go back whenever I'm in the area!!

Real ice cream shop with some of the nicest staff. Made fresh in-store and many flavors available. Two evenings we ordered different cones, including Nanaimo Bar scoops in a waffle cone. If we stayed more nights probably would make this store our home base. Definitely believe quality products are hard to find and support these great licks that do have a fair market price. And if we wanted mass production products that are ho-hum, we could have chosen a lesser grade ice-milk business store.

Warning for vegans: Avoid the "dairy free" ice cream. May not be dairy free. My guess is at best lactose free.

I tried 2 scoops of the "dairy free sugar free" raspberry ice cream today. Afterwards I had the absolute worst stomache ache I've ever had, even before going vegan. After my drive back to Victoria, I could barely walk it was so bad.

For reference, I've been vegan for 4 years now. I've tried a wide variety of vegan ice creams, from store bought to specialty ice cream places. So I've been exposed to a variety of the plant based ingredients used to make vegan ice cream.

Until now the only reaction I've had to any was the Dole whip, which the vanilla in particular is actually not dairy free and has trace amounts of casein (dairy). I didn't realize that until after, and it was advertised as dairy free. That was only a little bit of bloating.

And lastly, those 2 scoops were the most expensive "vegan" ice cream I've ever had.

"Waterfront Confections" in Nanaimo is known for its beautiful waterfront and has various cafes and shops that offer delicious treats with waterfront views.
Nanaimo bars are a famous Canadian dessert named after the city of Nanaimo in British Columbia. They consist of three layers: a base layer made of crushed graham crackers, cocoa, shredded coconut, and nuts; a middle custard-flavored butter icing layer; and a top layer of melted chocolate. They are chilled before serving and are a popular treat across Canada and beyond. They're often found in bakeries, cafes, and dessert shops in Nanaimo and throughout Canada.

I went to get an ice cream with my family, I wanted to try the barnacle tracks (moose tracks) but I am celiac and I had to make sure that there was nothing gluten in (I also know going out to places is risky as there is always a possibility of cross contamination) the lady who was helping us got annoyed that I asked what was in it and was being incredibly rude. I will say I truly appreciate the young woman who was working last night as she stepped in and made me feel better about the gf. I then saw that they offer gluten friendly waffle cones and oh man I got excited, when it was my turn to order I kindly asked that the older lady who was helping washed her hands to take precautions again she got annoyed and said “I wash my hands” as well as saying “it makes no difference” I started to explain that I just want to take precautions and she asked me if I “understand” that cross contamination can happen.. I ordered the gluten friendly cone and as I was leaving I had my family taste my cone as it looked exactly like the normal cone, it was in fact not gluten friendly and was the normal cone… had I eaten it I would have gotten very very sick. I do not recommend this place.

Have been there thrice before for icecream but this time went after a year . My most put off point was the very unfriendly rather intimidating old Asian lady . It was scary for even for us adults to ask let alone our kids. I asked for a flavour check with much hesitation and to my utter disbelief she didn’t use a disposable spoon; just took one metal spoon from the basket over her counter and placed two different flavours on same !!! I mean how could you taste anything when the ice-creams are melting and already getting mixed together??? Also she was completely oblivious to the religious aspect of customer’s need .ie alcohol or not . She just made us feel like a complete nuisance to her quite evening. Not to mention the handing of one single paper napkin each and only if you asked !

Oh God ! Even thinking about it is stressing me out ?
