I know this is fast food and expectations should be low but I will actively avoid this A&W. I’ve been here twice and both times it has been a problem. Today my girlfriend and I came in for a quick bite and the lady behind the counter (no name tag) was the dumbest person I’ve had the displeasure of speaking with in a long time. It seemed like she only understood about 10% of what was going on. Asking for a side order if gravy shouldn’t be a 3-4 minute ordeal. When we got the food I needed to remind her that we had ordered Drinks, that the drinks need straws, that a Poutine needs a fork and the we needed napkins. When we finally sat down with the food there was something off about my teen burger. It just wasn’t cooked right. For the sake of everyone’s time I recommend the A&W by Phibbs exchange. It has better service, better workers and better food.

I placed an order through iPhone app and by mistake selected wrong location. I called the store right away to cancel my order. The girl said she will get approval from manager and call me back. Nobody called me back. I drove 15 minutes to get to the store and talked to the manager. The cashier said no manager is available. It is ridiculous that a franchise like A&W will not cancel an order if customer made a mistake and called the store right away requesting to cancel it. For a $ 9 order you have lost a loyal customer.

Worst Cashier experience. If you are going to have someone work the cash register in the morning you better train them better. Was told you don’t serve toast yet it’s on your menu. After having to point it out 3 times the girl finally put the order in . She then started talking in philipino yo her coworker about me and allowed my toast to sit in the rack for 5 mins before handing it to me . No happy. Bring back your good staff .

I had one of the worst experiences at this A&W. The burger was absolutely awful — cold, dry, and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. It was nothing like what A&W usually offers. On top of that, the service was just as bad. The staff seemed uninterested in helping, and I had to wait far too long for such poor-quality food. Overall, this place has seriously gone downhill, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I"m sorry but I have to say something. On Sunday my sister and I went to have a bite to eat A&W around 1115, we made our order, it was very busy 10 people deep in the line up. The fellow who was working behind the counter was working very hard, he had to do everything, making fresh coffee etc. he was the only one. I know everyone is short staff but he was working so terribly hard and you can see he wanted to do everything right and was under a lot pressure for the line up was getting longer. I was in the restaurant almost three hours,.finally one of the staff members went to the counter. So I thought ok he's getting a break no he had to haul out the garbage and back again to haul other stuff.
My blood was boiling by this time, when does he get a break and why is he working like this. He needs a medal, I'm disgusted with what I saw. This persons name is Sota. I also worked in a food industry if I was short staffed I would come in. Please take note of what the public sees of your managing skills.
Everything was great but I felt for this guy.

I came here with all our group like 6-7 people and I was sitting with another person on a different table the manager I think he is an indian guy without confirming if I had ordered any food or not he said to me that this table is only for A & W customer others are not allowed to sit here in a very rude way I already ordered my food and I was just waiting for that while he was saying that to me my friend brought my order after seeing my order he also wasn't apologizing at all for his miss behaviour. I am not sure if he is a manager there it is a complete unprofessional and rude behaviour from him and if he is the manager God bless this A & W. I work nearby this place I am coming here with my 7-8 colleagues since the past last 1 year almost regularly and from now on nor me or any of my colleagues are coming back to this place.

Never, I repeat NEVER come to this location if you are looking for fast food. They are busier than they have enough staff to serve the customers in front of them, instead filling mobile orders. When ordering, despite knowing how backed up you are, the staff does not inform you of any wait. 15 minutes to wait for your meal. The staff are probably so stressed out, it causes them to be quite unpleasant. Out of all of North Vancouver, this is the slowest location.

I find this restaurant nice and clean even tho it’s in the mall.. good food, the price is getting a little high now, but all places these days are too. I would recommend this place for a fast meal..

Surprisingly good quality of burgers and fries we got. Busy during lunch. Fine and fast enough services. Fries and burgers were really fresh. We all enjoyed here.

Today, my 4-year-old was so hungry after his swim lesson, so we decided to visit A&W at Lynn Valley Mall to get a kid's pack. This turned out to be the worst experience ever. The place was unbelievably dirty, making me question their hygiene standards but my kid was hungry.
When I asked to substitute the fries for yam fries in my kid’s pack, something we always do at other A&W locations with an extra charge, the cashier rudely said, "No, we don’t and we never did!" I politely mentioned that this is the first time someone has refused, but he responded by loudly calling over all the staff, almost in a hysterical manner, and asking if they ever change fries to yam fries.
The behavior was unbelievable, and the lack of customer service was appalling. We left without ordering. I would not recommend this A&W to anyone. It was the dirtiest and worst A&W experience ever, and the staff's rudeness is unacceptable.

The management and cashiers are very rude at this location. Long wait times, never go at lunch when the high school kids are on their lunch and never go around 5.
They are not even friendly with mall employees, this place is horrible
