Burgoo Bistro Lonsdale

What a North Vancouver gem. This cosy bistro is very welcoming with a fireplace and comfort food menu. The beef stew and jambalaya dishes were so flavourful and the portion sizes very generous. The highlight of our dinner were the staff. Yhey really worked as a team ....friendly, professional, efficient and made our dining experience very enjoyable. Give yourself extra time to find parking in this area. Very walkable from the Lonsdale quay. We will return! .

Brussell sprout starter was excellent. . They used to have spectacular cauliflower bites (perfect for low carb) but they no longer have them. :(
The grilled cheese & tomato soup combo was “ok”. The sandwich was well grilled but had little flavor. Just a lot of rubbery cheese.
I had high hopes for the soup but it had a taste of alcohol? maybe from concentrated flavors. It wasn’t a nice creamy sweet flavor.
Maybe I am too used to campbell’s (LOL)
They chocolate banana bread pudding TO DIE FOR. I will be back to try another menu choice.

I had a very disappointing experience at this store. When I came to pick up my order, I parked my car in the lot. A staff member then parked her car in a way that completely blocked me in, so I could not move my car. When I asked her to move it, she was rude and only removed her car after 15–20 minutes, showing unnecessary ego. This is not the way customers should be treated, and it left me with a very negative impression of the store’s service.

Burgoo in North Vancouver is comfort food at its best. I had the tomato soup with a grilled cheese and it was absolutely delicious. The soup was rich and flavorful, and the grilled cheese was perfectly crispy with the right amount of gooey goodness inside. The cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal, and the service was warm and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back.

I don’t normally leave reviews for nearly anyone, but we stopped here on a whim during the shipyard event. Even though there wasn’t room on the patio for my dog, they graciously made an exception and allowed us to sit in the “non-dog” section because of the busy day, which was a private table area nestled into the corner. Myself and my mother both ordered the garlic shrimp and it was incredible, so much so that we ordered a second round. Appies were on for two for one. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade and the lobster Mac and cheese and they were both incredible also. This place was absolutely fantastic - probably the best place I’ve eaten at in a while. A great little hidden gem - so happy we stumbled on it by accident.

Leah was our server and she made the evening special and memorable. We were seated quickly and burgoo being for comfort food, we were made cozy and felt right at home from the start. Yes, the food was good, but it was our interaction with our server Leah that give the experience the soul that made us feel warm and fuzzy. Leah is sweet and kind and made an effort to be very personal despite having to manage multiple tables at once. We would go back just for the service alone. This restaurant is worth a visit if you’re looking for soul food and kindness.

Take Out

My son wasn't feeling well and he said he wanted Burgoo. As usual he ordered his favourite - I forget what it was, lol - oh, I think it was Hungarian Goulash!

After he ordered, I thought to myself that I kinda want something, too. I was feeling a bit hungry as well but I rarely buy food out because these days everything is outrageously priced.

I decided to order too, and I asked my son if he had any ideas. He mentioned Mac & Cheese.

I walked over to pick up my order, and as usual, everyone that worked in the restaurant was so nice - to me that sounds like there's a great manager - we've been ordering for more than 10 years.

Well, let me tell you, the Mac & Cheese was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 💯 PERCENT. I ate the WHOLE thing, and I actually felt full when I had finished!

Banging ambience music, food was killer (got Jambalaya & Lobster Mac & Cheese), and the service was above and beyond!

Very surprised considering they were understaffed on a late Friday evening. We walked here since Tap & Barrel can't manage tables properly and told us a 20 min wait. Walked right into Burgoo and really enjoyed the end of a lovely date that went even more fantastic thanks to the service & the quality of the food by the kitchen in combination with the professionalism by the FOH staff. Our server dude was awesome and we felt at home.

Will be back again. Thanks Burgoo NV!

Good food and Staff they give you good size meal here.

It had been a while since our last visit, and we were so happy to be back. The grilled cheese and cheesecake were absolutely amazing—rich, flavorful, and perfectly made. We also took advantage of the happy hour specials, which offered great deals and made the visit even better. A big shoutout to Rae, our waitress, who was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
